Week 14: Playoffs

Here it is! Week 14! Playoffs! Six BFL teams are that close to the prize. Six BFL teams will be watching from the sideline, scouting for next season. It's going to be a fun week!

Week 13 Highlights:
The DaBrudoggies end their worst season ever with another loss. This time to Password is Taco. The Brus put up their second lowest point total of the season thanks to a lack of TDs. The only players to find the endzone were RB Fournette and QB Brees. The Tacos also had a rough game with only two players scoring TDs. Fortunately for the Tacos, QB Wilson threw 3 TD passes. Despite the 74-72 win, the Tacos were kept out of the playoffs by the Pandemic of Love, who despite ending the season with the same record, scored more total points on the season. The BruDogs weren't in the running.

The Lancelot Links were in danger of losing their first round Bye in their matchup with the Dabalalas. So, what did they do? They put up their best game of the season, beating the Las 139-120. The Links saw double digits from all but one player. And, their Rams DEF crushed with 6 sacks and a TD. Oddly enough, the Las had one of their best games of the season. The star of the game was WR Hill and his 2 TDs and 185 yards for 30 points. They also song a strong effort from RB Bell and his 180+ yards and a TD. IADP would like to point out that the Lancelot Links, the highest scoring team ever in the BFL, has, once again, won the highest points trophy, this being the fourth time in the past six seasons.

It was a valiant effort by the Dancers, but they weren't able to take down the Bad Ass Weazels in a 99-96 loss. The Dancers kept it close thanks to TDs by WR Thomas and TE Walker. Also, despite an INT, QB Roethlisberger threw 2 for 21 total points. The Weazels also saw TDs from a WR and TE, and 2 thrown by QB Goff. But, the Badasses won with their DEF who produce 2 turnovers and 3 sacks. The Weazels and ic chargers share the same record. But, the Weazels leapfrogged the chargers on the leaderboard, putting them into 3rd place.

It's no surprise, the Manassholes won again, handily knocking down the Bug 124-74. The only misstep for the M-holes was QB Ryan, who only managed 6 points. The Holes' running game was on fire, combining for 230+ yards and 3 TDs. Their DEF also did well with a TD. And, K Tucker scored a bonus 2 for a 50+ yarder. The Bug were defeated by lack of TDs. RBs Henry and McCaffrey were the only players to find the endzone. The Buggies also got a decent effort from a Patriots DEF who held their opponents to just 3 points. The Manassholes win solidifies their 1st place spot and first round Bye.

The Half Smokes were behind by 17 points going into the Monday night game with one player left to play, WR Green. Fortunately for the Smokies, Green had one of his best games of the season, scoring 2 TDs for 19 total points, enough to beat the Pandemic of Love 113-111. The Pandemic had a decent game thanks to TDs from RB Lynch, WRs Allen and Lee, and TE Graham. 2 INTs and 4 sacks by their Jaguars DEF helped, too. The Love lost, but managed to keep their wildcard spot since their closest threat, Password is Taco, despite winning and ending the regular season with the same record as the Love, scored much lower on the points leaderboard.

A low scoring match between the ic chargers and the Love Supremes. Fortunately for the icees, the Supies scored lower, helping the icees win 79-67. Other than RB Kamara, who put up 126 total yards and 2 TDs for 24 total points, the rest of the Supies squad didn't produce much. Even QB Brady had his worst game of the season, scoring just 8 points on 258 yards, no TDs and an INT. The icees did a little better with 2 passing TDs by QB keenum and a TD by RB Ingram and WR Brown.

Playoff Preview:

Bad Ass Weazels (#3)  vs  Half Smokes (Wildcard)

Aside from last week, the Half Smokes have been on a low scoring streak lately. They scored 113 last week. But, prior to that game, it had been five weeks since they scored 100+. They will need to get back to their early season ways, where they averaged 106 points in the first third of the season, if they want to make it to the next round. Standing in their way are the reigning BFL Champion Bad Ass Weazels. They don't call them the Bad Asses for nothing. The Weazels have scored 100+ in three of their last five games. And, by the way, they are a two-time Kibble Bowl winner. The NFL Fantasy Guru has this one the two teams evenly matched. We at IADP don't have a prediction.

Pandemic of Love (Wildcard)    vs  ic chagers (#4)

The ic chargers have been around since the beginning. They've made the playoffs in four of the last five seasons. They were the league's runner up in 2013. They hold five BFL records. There's only one thing they haven't accomplished. Raising the trophy. They hope to do it this year. But, to do that, they'll need to take out the Pandemic of Love. The two-time champion Pandemic narrowly missed elimination, but have a good chance of making it beyond the first round. The two divisional rivals faced each other three weeks ago, with the Love coming out on top 144-126. We're not sure if this is going to be another high-scorer like that, but one thing's for sure. This will be a competitive game. The Guru is leaning towards the Pandemic. We shall see.

Good luck playoff teams! See you next edition!
