Week 8

If it were up to us at IADP, everyone would score a win this week. But, well, it ain't. However, take comfort in knowing that everyone in the BFL is a winner.

Week 7 Highlights:
The Love Supremes scored a much needed win, topping the Dancers 100-68. The Supies MVP of the game was WR Cooper. The receiver put up a monster game scoring 2 TDs. And, his 200+ yards resulted in a bonus 2. Also impressive was their Steelers DST which recorded 4 sacks and 2 INTs. The Lovies had two players who scored 0. But, Cooper more than made up for them. Unfortunately for the Dancers, only WR Landry scored a TD. And, other than Landry and their Panthers defense, the rest of the team scored in single digits. It also didn't help that the Dancers started K Prater. Although, no kicker in the league would have been able to make up enough points to change the outcome of the game.

The Half Smokes managed to pull off the impossible. They took down the undefeated Lancelot Links 89-79. The Links were behind by 21 points going into Monday night with 2 players left to play, WR Pryor and WR Agholor. Agholor was one of only two Links players to score a TD. Not enough though to help the Links as they put up their lowest points of the season. It also didn't help the Links that QB Newton just couldn't get it done, fumbling once and throwing 2 INTs. The majority of the Half Smokes didn't put up huge numbers. But, WR Bryant and TE Kelce both found the endzone. The star of the show was QB Carr who threw an impressive 400+ yards and 3 TDs.

It wasn't close at all as the DaBruDoggies fell to the ic chargers 121-106. It was icees QB Prescott who put the final nail in the Brus coffin. The QB rushed for a TD and threw another 3, one of which being a 72 yarder for a bonus 2. The chargers also saw three other ball carriers that scored TDs for double digits. The Brus didn't have a bad game. Their 106 point total was their second best score of the season. RB Jones put up an impressive 131 rushing yards and a TD, his best output of the season. And, WR Ginn put up 141 total yards. But, the biggest surprise for the Brus was TE Reed who, for the first time this season, found the endzone. . . twice.

A second impressive game in a row for the Dabalalas as they dominated the Manassholes 110-74. Not a whole lot of TDs on the M-holes side of the ball. WR Crabtree was the only ball carrier to score a TD. The only other TD on the team came from a single TD pass by QB Ryan. We should point out K Hauschka's scored a bonus 2 thanks to his 50+ yarder. For the Las, it was the Wentz Show. Despite an INT, the QB threw 4 TD passes, one of which being a 64 yarder for a bonus 2. The Las also saw good production from RB Bell and his 192 total yards, WR Hill's 125+ yards and a TD, and TE Ertz's TD. The Las were fortunate in their win, as they started WR Golladay who was on a Bye. And, K Vinatieri didn't get any kicking opportunities. Despite that, the Dabalalas won their 2nd in a row.

It was a mighty close game between the Bad Ass Weazels and Password is Taco. The Weazels were ahead 72-56 going into Monday night. The Tacos still had RB Thompson and their Redskins DST yet to play. The Asses still had K Elliott yet to play. RB Thompson tied his lowest point output of the season with 11 points. The Redskins defense allowed 34 points which held them to 15. Not enough to overcome the 12 points K Elliott scored to keep the Weazels ahead. The result, the Weazels took it 84-82.

The Pandemic of Love had their best game of the season, taking out The Bug 130-100. The Bug fought hard, relying on RB Elliott to lift their score. The RB put up 219 total yards and 3 total TDs for 39 points. Their Titans DST also put up a decent effort, holding their opponents to just 9 points and producing 3 INTs. It didn't help The Bug that two of their WRs, Decker and Bryant, managed no points. The Pandemic also had a couple of zeros, one of which being an ejection for RB Lynch. But, it didn't matter much. QB Cousins was on fire with 3 passing TDs and 300+ yards. RB McCoy rushed for 2 TDs. WR Evans and TE Graham both scored TDs for double digits. Their Jaguars defense shut out their opponents. And, most impressive was K Forbath who capitalized on 4 FG tries, 2 of which being 50+ yarders for a bonus 4. Forbath's 22 points ties the BFL record for Most Points Scored By A Kicker.

Speaking of the Pandemic of Love, owner Ryan is in our Game Of The Week Spotlight.

Spotlight:
Ryan, your win against The Bug put you above .500 and leap-frogged the Pandemic into 4th place overall and 3rd place in the Great Dane Division, the strongest division in the BFL (3 of the teams in the division are in the top 4 of the league). Can the Pandemic keep climbing to take the division title. And, will the Pandemic use their next opponent, the Manassholes as a stepping stone to accomplish that climb?

Well its been a struggle getting to where we are. The Manassholes are a good team and we're fairly evenly matched. If they pick up a good WR off waivers it'll be anyone's game. I have confidence we can finish out the season above .500, above and beyond that, if we can get by Password is Taco next week then it's all about week 10 vs. The lancelot links. If we can beat them, nothing is impossible. Good luck to all and Happy Halloween from the Pandemic

Game Of The Week Preview:

As coach Ryan stated, the Pandemic of Love and the Manassholes are pretty evenly matched. And, this week's game is pretty even. Both teams have pretty good matchups.

Keys to a Pandemic win, McCoy. After a bunch of so so weeks, he looked like the McCoy of years past this past week. Also, Cousins. The QB has thrown 2 or more TDs in his past 4 games. That needs to continue.

Keys to a Manassholes win, the QB position. Other than week 1, the M-holes passing game hasn't scored above 20. That needs to improve. Also, the RB position. The running game has never been stellar for the Holes. Both of their RBs have really good matchups this week. They need to take advantage of that.

Both the Pandemic of Love and the Manassholes have a whole lot of Bye action going on, but both teams seemed to have handled it well.

Good luck all! See you next edition!
