Week 15 Highlights:
They weren't the high scores we've come to expect from the Love Supremes and Dancers. But, they played a mighty tight game, with the Supies coming out ahead 104-101. Most of the Dancers score came by way of their passing game. Even though TE Rodgers was held to no points, the rest of the receivers each found the endzone. And, of course QB Wilson was his usual dominant self with 3 TD's. Despite not as many TD's, the Supies receivers just about matched the Dancers on points. But, the team as a whole outscored thanks to K Gostkowski's 4 field goals and RB Freeman's TD. Incidentally, Freeman had to perform double duty since his co-runner Allen scored in negative points. Probably the difference maker in this game was the Dancers defense. Their Panthers DST allowed a whopping 38 points. And, unfortunately, the Dancers other defense, the Patriots, had a huge game that would have added 18 more points to the Dancers score.
The DaBruDoggies managed to come from behind and beat the Lancelot Links 131-114. The Links were ahead by 33 points by Sunday night. But, the Brus still had two more players to play, QB Brees and WR Cooks. By the end of the first half of the Monday game, things weren't looking great for the Brus. The QB/WR pair wasn't getting the job done. But, despite being injured, Brees managed to step up in the second half with 3 TD passes, one of which to Cooks. The Brus receivers as a whole did well with all players scoring TD's. The Links receivers also did well with 4 combined TD's. The Loss by the Lances comes down to three reasons. RB Peterson suffered an ankle injury during the game, QB Palmer and WR Jones both put up their lowest points of the season, and their Eagles DST was fairly nonexistent, allowing 40 points.
KIBBLE BOWL IX
DaBruDoggies Love Supremes
The road to the Kibble Bowl was a very different journey for the DaBruDoggies and the Love Supremes. The Supies started with an A+ draft and they hovered at the top of the league for the majority of the season as a result of it. The Brus climbed steadily from as low as 11th place back in week 3. And, they can thank their front office who took advantage of the waiver wire throughout the season. Interestingly enough, the Brus only have 4 players left of the 15 originally drafted, compared to the Supies 10.
It will be an interesting game for the Love Supremes as they will be without top WR Beckham due to a suspension for his on-field antics. But, they still have the likes of QB Brady, RB Freeman, WR Marshall, and K Gostkowski to pick up the slack. The key to a Supies win? Pick up that slack.
The Brus may possibly have QB issues. As of this posting, QB Brees is a day to day decision due to a foot injury suffered in last week's game. Fortunately, he has a competent backup in Bortles, a week 5 waiver pickup. The key to a Brus win? Their receiver core will need to produce like they did last week where they combined for their highest total points of the season. Some consistent running should help also.
This would be a sweet victory for the Love Supremes after losing by 35 points to the DaBruDoggies back in week 10. Not to mention, the Supies would be only the third team in BFL history to win the championship twice and the second to win back to back. Of course, the Brus are looking for their first Kibble Bowl win after three tries in the past. The Guru has this one projected about even. But, let's forget about the projections and just enjoy the show.
Good luck DaBruDoggies and Love Supremes! And, Happy Holidays all! See you next edition!
