Week 3 Highlights:
The DaBruDoggies didn't have much of a chance against the Dabalalas. It's hard to win when your QB throws 4 Int's, you have a starting WR that records no stats, and a K that doesn't get a chance to kick. There were only two bright spots in the Brus lineup. TE Graham found the endzone and the Bills defense intercepted three times and scored a TD. The Dabalalas had their best game so far this season, more than doubling their Week 3 point total. The Las front office struck gold in picking up QB Taylor to replace the injured Romo. Taylor posted an impressive 30 points by way of 3 TD passes. It was also a great day for WR Cobb who also put up 3 TD's. The Las trounced the Brus 129-68.
After having their worst start ever, the Mighty Long Dogs recovered in Week 3, beating the Pandemic of Love 96-78. The game wasn't a runaway for the Longdogs, but their Cardinals DEF definitely created the win. The Cards put up 4 Int's and an impressive 2 TD's and a safety for a huge 39 points. On the opposite side of the ball, the Pandemic had the opposite effect. Their Dolphins DEF allowed 35 points and recorded no turnovers. It also didn't help that only two ball handlers, QB Manning and RB McCoy made it into the endzone.
An amazing game between the ic chargers and the Love Supremes! Both teams were on fire Sunday, but the chargers had their burner up just a little higher. They had a few standout performances including RB Blount's 3 TD's and a TD by their Ravens defense. But, it was definitely WR Green that really shined with 200+ yards, resulting in a bonus 2. The Love Supremes continued their high scoring ways. As usual, QB Brady didn't disappoint. And, each of the Supies WR's scored TD's. The final score was 139-124, but this game would most likely have had a different outcome if not for Supies marquee RB Lynch's calf injury which resulted in him leaving the game. And, don't get us started on the monster game that Supies backup RB Freeman had with 3 TD's.
Just as we predicted, the Half Smokes just edged out the Killer Bunnies 111-100. The Smokies saw production from multiple aspects of their offense. QB Luck threw 2 TD's, WR Fitzgerald caught two TD's and 100+ yards, and RB Randle dominated with 3 TD's. It was definitely a one-man show for the Killer Bunnies. QB Rodgers' 5 TD passes accounted for almost half of the Bunnies total. WR Hopkins also had a pretty good game with a TD and 100+ yards. The Bunnies running game was a huge factor, but not in a good way, having combined for only 23 rushing yards.
The Lancelot Links have done it again, scoring 130+ points for the third time this season. The Links put up good numbers on all sides of the ball. QB Palmer, RB Petterson, and WR Jones each put up a couple of TD's. And, their Eagles DST impressed with 3 Int's and a TD all their own. The bright spots for the Cheesesteaks came by way of TE Clay's and RB Bell's TD's. On the not so bright side, the Steaks Chiefs DST gave up a lot of points. The Cheesesteaks were the latest team to get eaten by the Links, losing 138-88.
The Dancers were in the lead going into the Monday night game thanks to over a hundred yards and a TD for RB Murray and 2 TD's for WR Matthews. But, with one player still to go, the game was well within reach for the Bad Ass Weazels. That player, RB Charles, more than got the job done, finding the endzone 3 times, helping the Weazels win 130-113. Charles didn't do it all himself. TE Olsen caught 2 TD's, the Seahawks DEF didn't allow a single point and returned a TD, and QB Newton impressed with 3 total TD's and 300+ yards.
Game of the Week Spotlight:
We traveled to the practice facilities of our Week 4 "Game of the Week" teams, the Love Supremes and Lancelot Links, for comments from their owners about their upcoming matchup.
This should be an exciting week for the Lancelot Links and the Love Supremes. The reigning champion versus the current #1. What do each of you have in store for your opponent. And, can you survive the Bye Week Shuffle?
Love Supremes: Current #1? The LL are ahead by 1 point! Okay, that barely makes them #1. But not for long! I had a small set back last week and the Bye Week is making things tough for me-both my QB and kicker are on a bye, but I've made some moves to put me in a good position to win. My team last year enjoyed a satisfying come from behind victory to make me champ but this year I started on top and plan to stay there. They don't call me the "Giant Killer" for nothing! (Is that trash talk? It's so unlike me but it's fun!)
Lancelot Links: First, the Links are thrilled that the Dog Pound commentary has been resuscitated this season! We've had a few lucky weeks and hope that streak continues. We are still figuring out whether Head Coach Mr Barkley is inspired or distracted by our new Defense Coach Grace Kelly. While we wish Lori and her team the best this year, I think some readers are looking for some obligatory smack talk. OK, here goes. The Bye Week Shuffle has marquee favorite Tom Brady stepping out on The Love Supremes, and we can't help but wonder if this is a parallel of what happened when marquee favorite Diana Ross stepped out on the other Supremes...Game of the Week Preview:
As Lancelot Links owner Joey mentioned, the Love Supremes are without their marquee QB Brady this week. And, unfortunately, Supies backup QB Roethlisberger is injured and expected to be out for about six weeks. It looks like the Supies took a trip to the Free Agent Market and picked up QB Carr to take on the Links. The Supies also may have TE issues. As of this posting, TE Davis is a question mark with a minor knee injury. Also, there's a possibility that RB Lynch may not be ready because of hamstring issues.
The Lancelot Links will be without #1 TE Gronkowski thanks to an early season Bye, so they'll rely on recent pickup Barnidge to handle the duties. Also, star WR Jones hasn't practiced this week. It's still too early to determine whether he'll take the field this week.
IADP believes that the Links are going to take this one. Without QB Brady and even K Gostkowski, this will be a tough test for the Supies. We aren't expecting the huge numbers that the Links have posted in the first three weeks of the season, but we're guessing they'll be 4-0 at the end of the week.
Good luck all! See you next edition!
