We at IADP would also like to apologize for not having posted an edition for the first two weeks of the season. Our entire staff decided to take a well deserved vacation.
Week 2 Highlights:
The Love Supremes have picked up where they left off last season. After scoring an impressive 143 points in Week 1, they toppled the Pandemic of Love 136-88. Future hall of famer, and former Pandemic QB, Brady scored 30+ points in both weeks. And, the Broncos helped the Supies with 4 sacks, 2 INT's, 3 FUM's, and a TD. The Pandemic were helped by a bonus 2 points for QB E Manning's 67 yard TD pass. But, overall, they just couldn't stand up to the Mighty Supremes.
It hasn't been a great start for the 2012 Champion Mighty Long Dogs. They did well in Week 1 with 94 points. Unfortunately, they had to face the reigning champion Love Supremes who left the Longdogs in the dust. Then a couple of INT's by QB Bradford, a so so effort by their running game, and two misses by K Hocker did them in in Week 2 in a 115-75 loss to the ic chargers. Week 2 was all about the passing attack by the chargers. QB P Manning connected for 3 TD's and all three of their WR's found the endzone.
The Killer Bunnies may want to buy a lottery ticket after their win last week. They put a meager 69 points. Not usually a winning score. But, against a Dabalalas team that had a nonexistent running game and a loss of marquee QB Romo to a collarbone injury, the Bunnies didn't need to score high, winning 69-60. Las QB Romo is expected to be out for 8 - 10 weeks so it looks like backup Foles or a free agent pickup may be asked to step in.
For the second week in a row, the Lancelot Links were on fire putting up 130+ points in both games. Their latest win was against the Bad Ass Weazels. The Weazels did very well in the air. QB Newton tossed 2 TD's and WR's Sanders and Williams combined for 3. But, they were held back by RB Hill and his 2 FUM's. The Links' passing offence also did well. QB Palmer threw for 4 TD's and all four the Links receivers scored in double digits. The result was a 136-108 win over the Asses.
After scoring only 62 points in Week 1, the Dancers recovered somewhat with a 87-75 win over the Cheesesteaks. The Dancers took a hit, losing RB Lacy to an ankle injury in the first quarter. Fortunately, they did well by QB Wilsons 2 TD's. And, the 8 sacks and 3 INT's by the Patriots DST cemented the deal. The Steaks got great effort out of WR Smith, but the rest of the receivers combined for a measly 5 points. Not enough to help the Steaks avoid an 0-2 start to the season.
The DaBruDoggies fell a few steps between weeks 1 and 2. The key contributions to that fall? No receptions for WR White, only 11 REC YDS for TE Graham, and a so so performance from their running game. It was also a rough week for QB Brees who evidently suffered a shoulder injury during the game. Their opponent, the Half Smokes, also had QB issues. But, with a core of WR's that each found the endzone (3 times for Fitzgerald) and a K who found the center of the goal posts seven times, there was no question who was going to win this 111-71 game.
Game of the Week Spotlight:
We traveled to the practice facilities of our Week 3 "Game of the Week" teams, the Killer Bunnies and Half Smokes, for comments from their owners about their upcoming matchup.
IADP: Going into Week 3, there are only four teams that won both their previous games. You'll be facing one of them this week. Is there a psych out technique you'll be employing against your opponent, and can you keep up your winning ways?
Half Smokes: This week I will be enjoying bunny stew, bbq'd bunny, and grilled bunny legs for weekly dinners with my family. On the weekend I will be feeding my new puppy Sunny, several live bunnies - getting ready for games on Sunday. Everyone in the Half Smoke's Organization feels very confident of a strong showing this week!
Killer Bunnies: Over here in the KB practices, we really focus on analyzing our opponents and working on the best game plan for success. We don't get into the trashtalk or head games other teams might employ. We want to focus on the things ourteamcan bring to the table in order to secure a win for our fans. We wish the Half Smokes luck. Now if you have any specific questions about our game plan, we will be happy to entertain those.Game of the Week Preview:
There's no question. The Killer Bunnies will definitely need to focus on their game plan this week if they want to topple the Half Smokes. They can't have another game like last week where only one player scored in double digits and none of their receivers scored TD's. And, their running game needs to step up after not finding the endzone two weeks in a row. The key to a Bunnies win? Two words. Rod gers.
If the Half Smokes want a "strong showing this week," they'll need QB Luck to stop throwing INT's. They were hurt by his 3 last week. It will also be interesting to see what happens with the Smokies running game, namely whether RB Morris can put up big numbers or not. With Morris sharing duties with his Redskins rookie teammate, Matt Jones, it's up in the air whether the Halfsies will benefit. By the way, the Dabalalas recently picked up Jones in the free agent market. We'll have to keep an eye out and see which of the two BFL teams benefits the most.
The NFL.com guru is predicting a win for the Bunnies. But, we at IADP think that the Smokies have a few more favorable matchups, resulting in a slight win.
Good luck all! See you next edition!
