Week 13

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, we're having to put out an early edition of IADP. And, don't forget that there are three games on Thursday, starting with the 12:30 matchup.

Well, except for a few possible position changes, the playoffs teams are set. For the rest of the league, it's been a hard fought battle to get to this last regular season game. If it were up to IADP, we'd petition the league management to let every team play in the playoffs.

Week 12 Highlights:
The Love Supremes destroyed all playoff hopes for the Pandemic of Love by beating them 118-74. The Supies scored 100+ for the second game in a row thanks to their runners, receivers, and defense. Most impressive was their receivers who combined for 4 TD's and almost 300 total yards. Equally impressive was the TD by their Rams DST. The only sour note for the Supies was QB Griffin who tied his worst of the season. There were very few bright spots for the Pandemic. QB Brady was on fire with 3 TD's. And RB Brown ran for over 100 yards and a 2 point conversion. But, the rest of the team barely showed up. And, we must point out the second low score in a row for their Chiefs DST.

Quite the squeaker for the ic chargers as they eek out a 103-101 win over the Mighty Long Dogs. The Long Dogs were well ahead going into Monday night. But, with the 49ers DST left to play, the game was well within reach for the chargers. The 49ers held the Redskins to just 6 points and scored 4 sacks and an INT for 22 points, resulting in a chargers win. We at IADP are guessing that Long Dogs Coach Bud is still saying, "Why didn't I start WR Smith over Hopkins?!" Hopkins was the only player not to score a single point. In terms of playoff implications, both teams were already solidly in the playoff picture. However the chargers win, along with losses by the Half Smokes and Lancelot Links, puts the chargers in first place and gives them a first round Bye if they can hold on to it.

The Killer Bunnies made easy work of the Dabalalas, beating them 99-55. QB Romo was the only Las single player to put up double digits. And, their Raiders DST had their lowest score of the season. Unfortunately, there wasn't much scoring going on for the Las, both starting and on the bench. We're guessing that Coach Jim is assessing his options for next season at this point. There weren't a lot of big numbers on the Bunnies side. But, WR Gordon had a monster game with a TD and 200+ yards for a bonus 2, resulting in 31 points. And, QB Smith had one of his best with 3 TD's for 27 points. The Bunnies locked up the final playoff spot with this win.

The Bad Ass Weazels continued their winning ways of late, taking out the Lancelot Links 135-102. The Weazels were bad-ass behind the O-line. QB Fitzpatrick kicked ass with 320 passing yards and 2 TD's, one of which being a 54 yarder for a bonus. The Weazels ground squad kicked ass combining for over 150 total yards and 3 TD's for a total of 48 points. And, the team as a whole scored their second highest of the season, their 4th 100+ point game in a row, and their 5th win in a row. The Lancelot Links suffered their 2nd loss in a row, although this was hardly a bad effort by the Links. Despite a fumble, RB Peterson still rushed for 146 yards and a TD. And, QB Kaepernick threw 3 TD's without an INT. Both teams hold on to their playoff spots.

The Dancers hand the Cheesesteaks their second loss in a row with a final score of 105-85. A few impressive efforts on the Dancers squad including 124 yards by WR Allen's, 140 yards and a TD by RB Jones-Drew, and a TD by their Broncos DST. The Steaks did well by QB Rivers and his impressive 3 TD passes, one of which being a 60 yarder for a bonus. But, the rest of the team was fairly non-existent. Their receivers combined for just 9 points. And, RB Ridley suffered from weak ball handling for a second week in a row. This matchup had no playoff implications.

It looks like the DaBruDoggies were trying to make a statement with their 113-79 win over the powerhouse Half Smokes. For the Brus, it was the Moreno Show. The RB only saw the endzone once, but 224 rushing yards resulted in a bonus 2 for 30 total points. As usual, QB Brees was solid, and WR's Boykin and Wright produced TD's. The Smokies had their third uncharacteristically low score in a row. TE Graham did well. But, much of the rest of the team did so so, including RB Gore and WR Bryant who were kept in check. It also didn't help that the Smokies played the game without a starting K. Despite the loss, the Halfsies still have a playoff spot. Although, the loss means that they no longer have a first round Bye.

Speaking of the Half Smokes, owner Nathan is in our Spotlight.

Spotlight:
Nathan, the Half Smokes are having a great rookie season and have locked up a playoff spot. We at IADP have to think that your years as an assistant coach and consultant for the Love Supremes have helped you and the Smokies become such a powerhouse. Can you confirm this? And, tell us what it's like to have your own BFL team, which happens to be kickin' but?

I feel like I'm finally free to speak on this issue.

The years as the Love's 2nd in command were a living hell! Second guessed, reversed on personnel decisions, as the time went on the front office staff increasingly felt the wrath of the Love's general manager. When the opportunity of a life time came my way - to control my own team I jumped at the chance, and I don't want to air too much dirty laundry but all of the front office staff moved with me. We have created a trusting, caring and supportive management structure where all opinions are valued and respected. Respect - that is what our success has been built on.

We wish the Love's players the best - we care deeply for those guys, we went to war with them for years. But as for the Love's management we only have one thing to say - You reap what you sow.

Preview:
Up next for the Half Smokes is a matchup against the Killer Bunnies. Both teams are in the playoffs, but the Smokies would benefit more from a win. The Smokies and the Lancelot Links are tied at 8-4. With the Links currently holding a first round Bye, the Halfsies can take that spot with a win and a Links loss. Looking at the Smokies lineup, it looks like they'll do their part. They have some marquee players in QB Newton, RB Gore, and TE Graham. And, it looks like everyone is healthy. We don't expect the Bunnies to sit back and do nothing, but IADP is predicting a win for the Half Smokes.

The Cheesesteaks are out of the playoffs, but they currently hold a lot of power in their hands. They are in a position to determine the playoff path of the Lancelot Links. As stated in the above Bunnies/Smokies write up, the Links have to win to hold on to their first round Bye. The Links have lost two in a row so you know they'll be on fire. The Links have a major plus on their side. Marquee RB Peterson is facing the worst run defense in the league in the Bears. On the negative side, TE Gronkowski faces the best pass defense in the Texans. The Steaks have an uphill battle this week. Five players are facing four of the top ten defenses in the league. We might have to give this one to the Links.

Can the Bad Ass Weazels finish on a six game win streak? That's all up to the Dancers. The Guru is predicting the win for the Dancers. But, the Weazels are on fire lately. The Bad Asses are averaging 109 points. This should be a good test for them as they face some strong defenses. Of course, the Dancers are also on a bit of a streak lately. They've scored over 100 in their last two games. . . And, won them by the way. The Dancers also have some tough defensive matchups. This one is just too hard to predict.

The DaBruDoggies are facing uncertainty in their lineup this week. Star RB Moreno is questionable  after injuring his leg last week. And, TE Reed's status is still in question after a concussion two weeks ago. The Brus may just have to rely on QB Brees to do his usual. Although, that may be tough against a 2nd ranked Seahawks pass defense. The Dabalalas have been suffering from ineffectiveness lately. But, they should get a boost this week by QB Romo and his chances against the Raiders. Of course, that would mean less points for the Las' Raiders DST. Oh, the dilemma! This game has no playoff implications as both teams are out of the hunt.

It's been a roller coaster season for the Pandemic of Love. And, with the Love having hit a trough last week, they are due for a crest this week. It's going to be a tough week for Pandemic QB Brady and WR Amendola against the Texans defense. The Mighty Long Dogs can afford a loss, but don't expect them to sit back and relax. IADP is expecting good numbers from Long Lions QB Stafford and WR Johnson.

After a scathing interview with former assistant coach and consultant Nathan, the Love Supremes coaching staff should be on fire and determined to prove to the league that they are the real thing. The only problem is that they will face the top ranked ic chargers. Barring something major, the chargers will maintain their first round Bye whether they win or lose. But, the way they've been playing this season, we're guessing a loss isn't in the cards. A possible issue for the chargers is QB Manning who's had two so so weeks in a row. Hopefully he bounces back to his usual high numbers.
