Week 12

Only two games left in the regular season. The playoffs teams are pretty much set. But, there are a couple of maybes on the table. Fantasy football! There's nothing like it!

League Manager Note:
I discovered this week that one of our league settings was wrong and has been since the beginning of the 2012 season.

In the off season prior to the '12 season, the NFL fantasy site changed two things. They changed how the division record affects the standings and they gave the option of changing what stat determines tie breaks in the league standings: Division Record, Head to Head Record, Points For, or Points Against. Not knowing what the setting was for the previous five seasons, I assumed that it was the "Division Record" setting. So I chose that for the '12 season. But, I noticed this season that the rankings seemed off. In going back through our league's history, I've determined that the "Points For" setting is what we've had in the past. So, I've gone in and changed it this week. Fortunately, it wouldn't have affected last season's playoff and/or Kibble Bowl results. But, it has affected this season's standings. The only teams it affects are the Lancelot Links (move to 1st), ic chargers (3rd), Mighty Long Dogs (4th), and Bad Ass Weazels (5th).

Week 11 Highlights:
Another relatively low scoring game for the Half Smokes. The key word is relatively. The Smokies won their game against the Dabalalas, 90-71. But, with a scoring average of 118, this was another so so week for the Smokies. But, who cares. They won! We do have to say that the Smokies may have dodged a bullet because the Las front office may have taken a mini vacation. The Las started the game with their defense on the bench and started K Bailey who was on a Bye. Aside from the lack of starters, both teams actually performed about the same.

A heart breaking loss for the Lancelot Links, as they fall to the Dancers 107-101. The Links Bengals DST had a monster game, putting up a bunch of sacks and Int's, and 2 TD's. Also, QB Ryan was effective, although 2 Int's hurt his final numbers. And, TE Gronkowski seems to be back to pre-injury form. What hurt the Links was a so so performance by RB Peterson. The Dancers won thanks to RB Rice who had his best game of the season. And, after two low scoring weeks, WR Jackson impressed with 165 yards and a TD.

A major win for the Bad Ass Weazels. Despite a not so great effort from their DST, all but two players scored in double digits. Most impressive was the 147 Rec. yards and 2 TD's scored by WR Brown. And, the receiving squad as a whole produced an impressive 65 points and 4 TD's. The Cheesesteaks didn't necessarily have a bad week. Both Steaks runners scored TD's. QB Wilson tossed a couple. TE Thomas scored a TD. And, their Bears DST added one themselves. It looks like it was the Steaks WR's that dropped the ball, although Welker did put up a good amount of yardage. The 122-108 win for the Weazels increases their chance of staying in the playoff picture, barring anything major happening.

The DaBruDoggies couldn't get the job done, losing to the Killer Bunnies 115-88. The Brus got another impressive effort from RB Johnson, who scored 2 TD's. And, recent pickup WR Cotchery scored a TD. But, the rest of the team had mixed efforts. QB Brees tied his worst of the season. TE Reed left the game with a concussion. And, other than Cotchery, none of the other receives scored TD's. The Bunnies bounced back from a bad week 10 thanks to the strong arm of QB Smith, the capable hands of WR's Cruz and Gordon, and the strong stance of thier Seahawks DST. And, this win keeps them in the wildcard spot.

The Pandemic of Love aren't counting themselves out yet. And, thanks to a 106-86 win over the ic chargers, the playoffs are within smelling distance. The Pandemic won with the help of RB McCoy who had his best game of the season with 150 total yards and 2 TD's. The Love also had a couple of decent efforts by WR's Johnson and Boldin. The chargers were let down by there receivers. Their WR's combined for just 6 points and no TD's.

A mighty close win for the Mighty Long Dogs, who beat the Love Supremes 115-113. Even going into Monday night, there was only a 7 point difference with both teams having a single player yet to play. Both teams scored exactly the same with their QB's. But, the rest of the teams points came from different areas. The Supies scored well by way of their runners who combined for 36. The Dogs scored well by way of their receivers who combined for 53. The win keeps the Long Dogs in the playoff picture.

Speaking of the Mighty Long Dogs, owner Bud is in our Spotlight.

Spotlight:
Bud, there are only two teams in the history of the BFL, the Dabalalas and the DaBruDoggies, who have made back to back Kibble Bowl appearances. The Dabalalas are the only team to win back to back. Do the Mighty Long Dogs have what it takes to join the elite club?

Really?!? We've been waiting for this all season and that's the best you got? Do we have what it takes?!? Do you not have eyes man?!? When it comes to elite and having what it takes, the Long Dogs are very well versed. Now we could cry about how this year it seems running backs come to our franchise to end their season or whine about the loss in revenue from only playing our cross-house rivals once (Love you Pookie!). But of course, we would never go there. We know we've got some tough games ahead and look forward to the challenge they present. But when the opportunity rises, we shall raise the championship trophy high and shake it in your general direction. Do we have what it takes?!? We'll not waste the time entertaining the question. Next question.......

Preview:
The next opponent for the Mighty Long Dogs won't be an easy one. They'll face an ic chargers team that's having its best season ever and have just about locked up their playoff spot. chargers QB Manning is still dealing with his injury, but it doesn't look like it'll affect his play. But, the rest of the team will have to help. It's nice to have that player that you can count on for big numbers. But, as we saw last week, sometimes it doesn't happen. The Long Dogs have their own weapon in QB Stafford. We at IADP expect this to be a tight one. Maybe even our "Game O' The Week".

This is a must win for the Killer Bunnies. Currently in 6th place at 6-5, and with the Pandemic of Love right on their heals in 7th place at 5-6, the Bunnies can't rest on their laurels. They should be okay. Especially if the Redskins keep the ball in RB Morris' hands. Also, expect their Titans DST to do well. The Guru isn't expecting much from the Dabalalas. And, we at IADP agree that this will be a tough one for the Las. With the Las being well out of the playoffs, this week will be all about making things tense for the Bunnies.

The Lancelot Links are currently in the pole position and are a lock in the playoffs. But, that doesn't mean they can rest at this point. They are playing a strong Bad Ass Weazels team that hasn't lost in their last four games and who have averaged 114 points in that span. The outcome of this game may just depend on the Links running game. Ivory will face a strong Raven's run defense. Williams suffers from a mobile QB in Newton. And, as of this posting, Peterson is still dealing with his groin issues, although his is expected to play. We at IADP expect this to be a close one, but we think that the Weazels may have a slight advantage, especially with the momentum they've got going right now.

The season is winding down for the Cheesesteaks and the Dancers, as both teams are out of the playoff picture. The Dancers have picked up RB Rainey in hopes that he'll put up another 34 point game like he did last week while unsigned. Questions on the Steaks side? Will RB Jennings see a lot of touches if teammate McFadden plays? Will WR's Welker and Nicks be affected by their injuries. And, of course, the big question for both teams. Who wants to end this season with their heads held high.

Another team already locked into the playoffs is the Half Smokes. The Smokies have already proven they have a winning formula and should have no problem putting it to use this week. Especially with the likes of QB Newton and RB Gore. Although the DaBruDoggies are out of the playoff picture, they still have a chance to knock the Smokies down a notch with QB Brees on the job. And, RB Johnson has stepped lately, although he faces a strong Raiders run defense. The Guru has the Brus winning this one, but the Guru has missed the mark on much of the Brus season.

The Pandemic of Love are facing a must win situation. They are just outside of the playoffs and will need a boost by a win and a Killer Bunnies loss. We expect the Pandemic to do their part. Unfortunately for the Pandemic, they are without marquee RB McCoy due to a Bye. And, Bush is facing a decent Buccaneers run defense. The Love Supremes have a bunch of Byes. But, the one that hurts them the most is top ranked RB Lynch. The other uncertainty is QB Griffin. Despite the Redskins record, Griffin can put up strong numbers. That may be a little harder this week against the 49er defense.

Good luck all! See you next edition!
