Week 10 Highlights:
A third 100+ game and a second win in a row for the Cheesesteaks, as they beat the Dabalalas 116-85. It was all about the air attack for the Steaks. QB Wilson tossed 2 TD's passes. And, WR's Cooper and Green and TE Thomas combined for 349 Rec. Yds. and 4 TD's. The Steaks only downfall was their running game which combined for 10 points. Thanks to the Rams DST, the score wasn't as lopsided as it could have been. The Rams held the Colts to just 8 points, put up a handful of sacks and Int's, and a TD. Also, WR Garcon did very well, scoring 17 points. But, the rest of the team didn't produce.
It was the Drew Brees show this past week as he led the DaBruDoggies to a 112-99 win over the Love Supremes. As a whole, the Brus did a so so job and only one because of Brees' almost 400 passing yards and 4 TD passes. The Supies QB woes finally ended. Griffin had an impressive outing with almost 300 passing yards and 3 TD passes. And, their pair of runners did a decent job, combining for 35 points. But, other than WR Smith and his TD, the rest of the team didn't contribute much. Especially, their Falcons DST which allowed 33 points and recorded only a single sack.
Not a good week for the Pandemic of Love thanks to one player, QB Locker. Not entirely his fault, though. Locker injured his foot during the game and had thrown an INT and only 24 yards before he had to leave the game. The result was a BFL record tying -3 points. The Lancelot Links had a pretty even performance with the exception of TE Wright, who was picked up off waivers to fill in for Gronkowski and Cameron who were both on Byes. The rest of the team scored in double digits, although QB Ryan didn't have his best. The 116-76 win moves the Links back up to #1 on the leaderboard.
The ic chargers scored the most points last week, more than double the Dancers score, and won 132-64. No surprise when you look at the numbers. chargers WR's Tate and Marshall scored a total of 41 points. Their 49ers DST were solid. And, of course QB P. Manning shined as usual, throwing 4 passing TD's and over 300 yards. The Dancers had another not-so-hot game with all but three players barely scoring.
As we predicted, the Mighty Long Dogs shortened the win/loss gap in the "Battle of the Bedroom" last week and beat the Killer Bunnies 106-69. Dogs WR Johnson and QB Stafford showed why they are #1 and #3 in their respective positions. And, their Ravens DST, despite losing their NFL game, owned the Bengals with 3 INT's and 5 sacks. Fill in QB Flacco scored 2 passing TD's for the Bunnies. But, his 2 INT's kept him from being a big contributer. And, with 139 rushing yards, RB Morris was the most productive ball handler for the Bunnies.
We at IADP were so wrong on our preview of the matchup between the Bad Ass Weazels and Half Smokes in week 10. We predicted a blowout over the Weazels by the Smokies. Well, as you can see, we got that one wrong. Not only did the Weazels dominated, but the Smokies had an uncharacteristic bad game, scoring well below their 122 point average. For the Halfsies, QB Newton was held in check. WR Bryant was double-teamed. TE Graham didn't see the endzone. And, to top it off, K Hauschka was their biggest single scorer of the game. For the Weazels, picking up QB Foles was a smart decision, as he threw 3 TD passes, one of which being a 55 yarder for a bonus. Also, WR Thomas was on fire with 3 TD's of his own. Instead of being an easy win for the Half Smokes as we predicted, this was an easy 126-75 win for the Bad Ass Weazels.
Speaking of the Bad Ass Weazels, owner Dayton is in our Spotlight.
Spotlight:
Dayton, three wins in a row! And, you managed to topple the powerhouse Half Smokes and remain right in the middle of the playoff picture. It looks like Coach Bug is running a tight ship over at the Weazels practice facility. Can you confirm this? And, what's his game plan for keeping the playoffs within sight?
Well [IADP], with my age and rapidly diminishing ability to pay attention and Coach Bug just recently finishing his live football season and his busy schedule we brought in his hard-nosed, no nonsense sister Miss Em to help run things. She started by canning Jay Cutler (a BFL record holding loser) and has been on a roll since. I want to leave you with a snip-it of her locker room speech as it applies to our playoff hopes."Was it over when the French bombed the Inner Harbor? Or when Miley Cyrus secretly married Justin Bieber?? No but hopefully our losing streak in the BFL playoffs is................... hey look a squirrel!
Preview:
Coach Em and the Bad Ass Weazels are in good shape going into their matchup against the Cheesesteaks. Especially, QB Foles who's been on fire lately and faces a lowly Redskins pass DEF. You're also in good shape when you have a WR like Thomas who receives passes from QB Manning. The Weazels are facing a Steaks team that is dead set on finish the season on a win streak. They have the tools to do it. The Steaks QB Wilson also has a favorable matchup against a weak defense. Contrary to their record, the Steaks are a good team and have scored over 100 point in the majority of their games. This is a must win for the Steaks if they want a post season appearance. We expect this one to be an exciting one.
The game between the DaBruDoggies and the Killer Bunnies is a must win for both teams. The Bunnies currently hold the last wildcard spot, the Brus are one position below that spot. The key to a win for the Bunnies. RB Morris will need to be on fire as he faces the top rated run defense in the Jets. The key to a Brus win is QB Brees' being able to outplay highly ranked 49ers pass defense. The Brus are likely to be without TE Gonzalez, but have a capable alternative in Reed.
According to the projections, the Pandemic of Love are expected to stomp all over the ic chargers. Let's analyze why. Both their runners are facing defenses that aren't exactly near the top of the rankings. And, WR Johnson has scored 5 TD's in his last two games and faces a so so Raiders pass defense. But, 171 total points?! We aren't so sure about that, but we do expect the Love to do well. The big question for the ic chargers is QB Manning. Coaches are saying he will play, but he didn't practice fully this week. And, charger backup Glennon can't fill the big shoes of Manning.
The Love Supremes are playing for pride at this point. . . or, ruining another team's chances of a post season appearance. They'll be lining up against the Mighty Long Dogs. The Dogs will have the powerful arm of QB Stafford to rely on. By the way, Stafford happens to be one of the best QB's in the BFL this season. Only chargers QB Manning and BruDogs QB Brees are better. There is a little uncertainty on the Dogs side. WR Johnson hasn't practiced this week, as of this posting. The Supies would welcome the site of the #1 WR on the bench this Sunday. We'll see if that comes to pass.
The Half Smokes will try to get over their minor setback from last week and try to get back on track toward a Kibble Bowl appearance. They'll have to get passed the Dabalalas. The Las will only be a minor annoyance for the Halfsies if their front office doesn't address the issues they are facing right now. We at IADP expect the Smokies to pull out a full attack on all sides of their offence. And, barring anything major, should have no problems taking this one.
The Lancelot Links are on track to make their first Kibble Bowl appearance. There are two reasons why the Links have a good chance of winning this week against the Dancers. RB Peterson and WR Jackson. Both have pretty good defensive matchups. And, both have more than proven themselves (they are ranked 3rd and 4th in their respective positions). It isn't exactly a lock for the Links. QB Luck has been a standout for the Dancers much of the season. The question is whether the rest of the Dancers can keep up. The Dancers running game has been iffy this season. Hopefully, Rice can take advantage of the poor Bears defense.
Good luck all! See you next edition!
