Week 15 Highlights:
A close finish between the DaBruDoggies and the Pandemic of Love, and a fairly even matchup. The Brus RB's combined for 20. The Love's combined for 26. 22 for the Brus receivers, 21 for the Love. And, both teams' kickers and DST combined for 31. But, after having two off weeks in a row, it was Brus QB Brees who made the difference in the game, scoring 37 points for the third time this season. Although decided early, this game was within reach for the Love going into the Sunday night game. The Brus were ahead by 33. With the combination of QB Brady (avg. 25) and RB Gore (avg. 12), the Pandemic were definitely capable of taking it. The two scored about average. Fortunately for the Brus, their top ranked K Gostkowski scored enough Sunday night to keep the Brus ahead, helping the DaBruDoggies beat the Pandemic of Love 110-104.
The Lancelot Links were the latest casualty in the Mighty Long Dogs' quest for the dish, losing 142-88. The Long Dogs put up a well balanced attack with all but one player scoring in double digits. It also helped that their Texans DST scored a TD and their K Graham kicked 5 field goals. The Links had some bad luck on their side of the field. QB Freeman threw 4 Int's and fumbled once for a total of 1 point. But, his benched counterpart scored an impressive 28. K Tynes missed his only field goal attempt, yet his counterpart made 2, along with 4 PAT's. But, a lineup change wouldn't have helped the Lances against a strong Long Dogs team.
The Pandemic of Love's 110 points versus the Lancelot Links 88 points puts the Love in third place.
KIBBLE BOWL VI
A division matchup for this year's championship game! The DaBruDoggies are returning to the Kibble Bowl for the first time since Season 2. Their opponent, making their Kibble Bowl debut, is the team record-holding Mighty Long Dogs. The Long Dogs have been on fire over the past few weeks, having scored no less than 134 points since week 11. As a matter of fact, the Mighties have scored 100+ in all but three games this season. So, they know how to score. The Brus are a different team since beginning the 2012 season, with only six players of the original fifteen drafted still on the squad. So, they know a thing or two about team management. But, team management won't help lift the Brus over the Long Dogs. They'll need QB Brees to have another killer game like last week. They'll also need their top WR Shorts to take advantage of his favorable matchup. A little luck wouldn't hurt either. The Long Dogs should be fine as long as none of their players' respective teams sit them out. IADP predicts that coach Bud will hoist the bowl this year, but we're guessing that the Brus and coach Antonio will do whatever they can to prevent that. Even if it includes gathering four-leaf clovers, horseshoes, grasshoppers, and maybe a rabbit's foot donated by Killer Bunnies coach Caren.
Good luck Kibble Bowl teams! Happy Holidays all!
