Week 15: Playoffs

What an exciting first round of the playoffs! A great week for the top 4 teams! An unfortunate week for the wildcards. A record breaking week for a mighty foe!

Week 14 Highlights
An amazing finish between the DaBruDoggies and the Cheesesteaks. The Brus were ahead by 33 points going into Monday night. But, the game was nowhere near a lock. The Steaks still had three players left to play, RB Ridley, who scored double digits in his last two games, WR Johnson, who scored 18 in his last, and WR Welker, who scored double digits in his last. Ridley managed a TD, but the two WR's were unable to find the endzone. As a whole, the Brus didn't fair much better. RB Dwyer scored only 4 points. And, in another surprise outcome, QB Brees had a so so day with 2 Int's and a single TD pass. But, it was definitely WR Wallace's 2 TD's that won the game for the Brus. The 106-94 defeat of the Cheesesteaks means that the DaBruDoggies move on to the semifinal.

There's no question who won the matchup between the ic chargers and the Mighty Long Dogs. The Dogs had a monster game on all fronts. Their Giants DST returned a TD. TE Hernandez scored 2 TD's. RB Moreno did well with a TD and 100+ rushing yards. And, to ice the cake, QB Newton scored 3 TD's and scored a bonus for a 53 yarder to RB Williams. The only major misstep for the Dogs was that the Texans DEF kept RB Foster under his 15 point average. The ic chargers had a few bright spots. Their RB's combined for 40. And, two of their receivers found the endzone. But, the chargers had no chance, losing to the Mighties 163-116. The win advances the Mighty Long Dogs to the semifinal. And, their 163 points breaks the BFL's Most Points Scored By A Team record previously held by the both the Lancelot Links and In It To Win It.

Spotlight:
Mike: Good luck to all in the Kibble Bowl!

Kurt: Flacco is fired! He sucks! Oh yeah, Best of luck final four. Prediction- Mighty Longy and DaBrucats in final. Mighty wins 124-105.

Semifinal Preview:

Mighty Long Dogs ( #3 )   vs   Lancelot Links ( #2 )

If this were the middle of the season, we would be predicting that the Lancelot Links would have the lock on a win against the Mighty Long Dogs. But, things have changed since. The Links were averaging 124 points through week 10, but dropped to 88 in their last three. The Long Dogs averaged 105 through week 11 and increased to 144 in their last three. So, the Links have a mighty task ahead of them. They'll need RB Peterson to continue the monster effort he's produced in his last two games. And, QB Ryan will need to take advantage of his favorable matchup against the low ranked Giants DEF. There isn't much advice IADP could give to the Mighties. Coach Maggie seems to have figured out the winning formula, as of late.

      DaBruDoggies ( #4 )   vs   Pandemic of Love ( #1 )
It'll be a classic matchup between original teams the DaBruDoggies and the Pandemic of Love, the comeback kid versus the dynasty. It's been a few years since the Brus have reached the playoffs. And, they have never held the Kibble Bowl trophy. So, a semifinal victory would be a sweet one. The Pandemic have been here every season of the BFL and have lifted the Kibble Bowl trophy twice. So, they know what it takes to fight their way to the final. The Brus went on a 3-1 run to end the regular season, a fortunate outcome considering that they were projected to lose those games. So, they may have a bit of luck on their side. The Pandemic have the best record in the BFL this season. So, they may have bit of skill on their side. We at IMDB think that this will be a close one. One that we've described in the past as a "coin tosser".
