Week 14: Playoffs

The time has come! Playoffs! Six teams hit the gridiron, each trying to knock the other five down as they make the run for that coveted dish, the Kibble Bowl.

Note From The League Manager:
DO NOT ADD PLAYERS off of waivers if you haven't made it to the playoffs or have been eliminated from the playoffs. To keep things fair, these players should be available for those still in the running. Please don't force me to make use of my executive access to your team.

Week 13 Highlights:
An amazing finish for the Love Supremes. The Supies were behind 34 points going into Monday night, but still had QB Griffin III and WR Garcon still to play. Griffin connected with Garcon for a TD, helping the Lovies overtake the Dancers in a close finish, 94-93. The Dancers saw great numbers from QB Romo and their Cardinals DST. But, they were let down by their receivers, two of which scored nil. The Dancers end their season at 4-8-1. The Love Supremes end their season at 5-8.

The ic chargers were 2 points away from not making it to the playoffs. They were ahead going into the Monday night game. But, their opponent, the Killer Bunnies, still had RB Morris and WR Cruz to play. The Bunnies needed 22 points to ruin the chargers season. Thanks to Morris and Cruz, the Bunnies inched closer and closer. But, they came up just short, giving the chargers the 96-95 win. And thus, the chargers held on to their 6th place position and kept their wildcard spot. The Killer Bunnies end their season at 5-8.

Despite a measly 9 points from QB Flacco, the Cheesesteaks put up their third win in a row, beating the Bad Ass Weazels 99-83. It was the Steaks' running game and defense that won the game. The Steaks RB's combined for 25 points verses the Weazels' 9. Also, the Steaks Chargers DST recorded a TD. Weazels QB Schaub managed a bonus 2 for a 54 yard TD pass to WR Jean. But, with most of the team scoring in single digits, the Asses didn't have much of a chance. The Cheesesteaks maintained their 5th place spot. The Bad Ass Weazels end their season at 4-9.

A rough loss for the DaBruDoggies thanks to one person, QB Brees. Brees recorded his first single digit performance ever in the BFL thanks to an unprecedented 5 Int's and not a single TD pass. Of course, even if Brees had an average (by Brees standards) day, it wouldn't have made much difference in the outcome of the game. The Brus opponent, the Mighty Long Dogs, destroyed with their best score of the season, stomping all over the Brus 136-79. The Long Dogs dominated thanks to QB Newton's 3 TD's and the Texans DST's 31 points. The outcome of the game caused a position swap between 3rd and 4th place, but did not affect the two teams' playoff statuses.

A third loss in a row for the Lancelot Links. It was likely QB Ryan and the Bears DST that lost it for the Links. Ryan had one of his lowest point totals this season and the Bears scored their second lowest. The bright spot on the Lances lineup was RB Peterson who scored a monster 30 points thanks in part to his 200+ yards for a 2 point bonus. Their opponent, the Dabalalas, scored much more evenly with six players scoring in double digits. The result, a 104-94 win over the Links. Despite the loss, the Links maintain their 2nd place. The Las end their season at 4-9.

The Wonder Twin Powers end their season on a high note, taking down the 1st place Pandemic of Love 99-80. The Twins can thank QB Roethlisberger's replacement, Palmer, for a solid 26 points including a bonus for a 64 yarder to WR Streater. Contributing to the Pandemic's loss was QB Brady's 13 points, his lowest of the season. Also, the Love left a whole lot of points on the bench, including WR Boldin, RB Brown, and the Broncos DST. Despite the loss, the Pandemic maintain their first round Bye. The Wonder Twin Powers end their season at 6-6-1

Spotlight:
IADP decided to get final statements from a couple of the teams whose seasons have ended.

Jim: Please let me know when the pre-season is over so I can put my A-Team on the field. It's been a fun pre-season but I'm ready to get this season started. Thank You.

Jenn: I would like to thank Antonio for asking me to be part of this and I would like to thank the "man behind my team,"-my husband Dan! I don't have a clue what I am doing and he has helped me!
Can't wait for next season when I might be able to do more on my own! LOL

Quarterfinal Preview:

DaBruDoggies (#4 )     vs     Cheesesteaks (wildcard)

The Cheesesteaks lost by 44 points to the DaBruDoggies back in week 10. So, a win against the Brus, along with the chance to advance to the Semifinals, would be sweet for the Steaks. It looks like they'll be relying on their receivers to put up the big numbers. There's some uncertainty on the Brus receiving squad. As of this posting, WR's Wallace and Shorts haven't practiced this week. The Brus' main weapon, QB Brees, will need to overcome his unfortunate week 13 performance if the Brus are to have a chance at winning this one. The two teams are projecting a pretty even matchup. We at IADP would have to agree.

Mighty Long Dogs (#3)      vs      ic chargers (wildcard)

The ic chargers have the unenviable task of taking on the mighty Mighty Long Dogs. The chargers have some key players on their team, including QB Manning. Also, RB Martin, if he can put up the sort of numbers he did in weeks 8 and 9. The problem is, the chargers are playing against an army of weapons in the Mighties. The Dogs have five players who are in the top ten of their respective positions. The Guru has the Dogs heavily favored over the chargers. We at IADP may have to agree.

Good luck playoff teams! See you next edition!
