Also, don't forget that this week starts the NFL's Thursday night games. So, if you have anyone on your lineup playing early in the week, you need to make sure that you have them in place by 8:15pm or risk reducing your point total.
Week 9 Highlights:
The Cheesesteaks put up a solid game against the Easy Wins winning 94-46. The biggest disappointment for the Steaks was definitely QB Vick who was kept in check by the Chicago defense, resulting in no TDs and a total of 9 points. However, the Cheeses benefited from RB Tolbert who replaced the injured DaBruDoggies RB Matthews.
It looks like the DaBruDoggies forgot to show up for their matchup against the Bad Ass Weazels because they lost 119-74. Brus RB Torain only ran for 7 yds and RB Carter fumbled for -2. Their WR squad combined for a mere 15 points. The Weazels faired much better, especially with QB Romo's 2 TDs and WR Jackson's 3 TDs.
The ic chargers put up their second highest point total this season as they routed the Lancelot Links 108-74. The chargers can probably attribute their win to RB McGahee's 163 rushing yds and 2 TDs. Also helping the chargers was the Links running squad which combined for 7 thanks to RB Addai being sidelined for the game. Also, Links WR Jackson scored no points due to a fumble that negated his 26 total yds.
The Pandemic of Love wins again, this time against the Mighty Long Dogs 120-94. The Dogs did well by QB Tebow's 2 TDs. Although, what's more impressive is his 118 rushing yds. Also, RB Foster scored a solid 20 points. But, the rest of the team did so so. The Pandemic saw a better and more even effort, but their standout was definitely WR Jones and his 2 TDs and 100+ yd game.
A great game over at the Dancer Dome where the Killer Bunnies beat the Dancers 126-110. The Dancers saw a solid effort from QB Ryan, including two bonuses for a 50 and 80 yd TD pass, resulting in his highest point total this season. The rest of the team put up even numbers. Their opponent, the Killer Bunnies, once again got a huge effort from QB Rodgers. Bunnies TE gates also had an impressive game with almost 100 yds and a TD.
The Love Supremes continue their dominance in the league by taking down the Dabalalas 109-96. Despite a rough week, the Las running core and their DEF helped them put up a decent score. But, they had the misfortune of being the sixth team in a row to face the Supremes and lose. The Supies did very well by their DEF which, despite allowing 38 points, managed 2 sacks, an 3 Ints, and 2 TDs. Despite the loss, the Las are still in the playoff hunt.
Speaking of the Dabalalas, owner Jim is in our spotlight.
Spotlight:Jim, at 5-4, the Dabalalas are currently in 5th place, the top wildcard spot. Last year, our Kibble Bowl winner and runner up were the two wildcard teams. Does that give you some bit of encouragement that you still have a chance at taking the crown once again?
I have no doubt that we can win the title, the question is, "Do we want to win the title?" I have yet to decide whether we want to win it again this year or not. We will be making our final decision within the next two weeks. We are so confident that we can win the title (if we should decide that we want to) we even let our wide receivers get hit and knocked out of games, and quarterbacks who won't score points. That's the way we roll.Preview:
The Dabalalas will face the ic chargers next. The chargers have a bunch of injuries. Fortunately, they are all on the bench and have backups to fill in. Other than K Janikowski, the Las seem to be healthy. The Las are projected to win this one, although they may be held back some by their DEF which is going up against the high powered Saints offense.
The Mighty Long Dogs are on their Bye this week, but still have a chance to rack up some major points now that QB Newton is back. Of course, the Dogs will win this one, and they need every win they can get. There is still the possibility of a wildcard birth, but they'll need to finish the final stretch on a win streak and count on enough losses by some middle of the pack teams.
The DaBruDoggies have fallen majorly in the past few weeks thanks to their lack of receiving yards and injury plagued running game. This week, as they face the Cheesesteaks, their injury problems persist. Marquee RB McFadden is still out and RB Matthews is expected to play, but in a limited capacity. Despite a lackluster game last week, Steaks QB Vick is expected to account for most of the teams points. This is a must win for the Brus if they want to remain in the playoff picture.
Madden feels like this is the Lancelot Links' week to win, although Madden may not be taking into account that they are playing the first place Pandemic of Love. The Links are fully healthy and are expecting to do well by their running squad. The Love's point total may depend on whether RB Gore is healthy enough to play on Sunday. At seventh place, just slightly outside of the playoff pool, the Links could really use this win. But, don't expect the Pandemic to just hand it to them on a platter.
The Bad Ass Weazels are holding strong at third place, but they have quite the task this week as they face the Dancers. The Dancers are projecting big numbers this week, especially from the running combination of the Rice and Jackson. Even if the Asses lose this one, they should have no problem staying in the upper echelon of the league.
Our game of the week pits the Love Supremes against the Killer Bunnies. This is a huge game for both teams. Both teams should have no problem reaching the postseason. But, a Bunnies win would mean that a team will have finally stopped the locomotive that is the Love Supremes. However, a Supremes win would cement them as one of the best rookie teams ever in the BFL. The matchup looks pretty even. We at IADP are calling this one "Kill'em with Love!"
Good luck all! See you next edition!
