Week 7

A rough week in the BFL. Lots of so so scores. And, only two teams managed to break the 100 point threshold. Now that we're just about at the halfway point, are the BFL's rosters petering out? Are they saving their energy for the final stretch? Can the Cheesesteaks find their way out of the fantasy abyss?

Week 6 Highlights:
Despite a lackluster passing games, the Love Supremes scored the second highest point total last week, beating the Lancelot Links 100-74. The Links had a rough week with all but two players scoring in single digits. IADP believes that contributing to the Links loss were so so performances by QB Roethlisberger and RB Peterson, both considered two of the best in the NFL.

The story of the game between the Bad Ass Weazels and the Easy Wins isn't just that the Weazels beat the Wins 73-38, but that the Easy Wins actually scored 38 points thanks to 4 Int's by Redskins QB Rex Grossman who was replaced by, you guessed it, Wins QB John Beck. This was a fortunate week for the Weazels considering that, compared to the rest of their season, the Asses have now had two low scoring weeks in a row. Nonetheless, the win, along with the DaBruDoggies loss, moves the Weazels into 3rd place.

The thrills continue for the Killer Bunnies. The agonies continue for the Cheesesteaks. Once again, thanks to another strong game by Bunnies QB Rodgers, and 4 Scks, 2 Ints, and a TD by their Jets DEF, the Killers beat the Cheesesteaks 93-80. The Cheesesteaks scored their second lowest point total of the season thanks to a ground game that combined for only 12 points. The Steaks receiving game didn't contribute much either, combining for 19 points.

In one of our closest games of the season, the Mighty Long Dogs managed to edge out the Dabalalas 90-89. The teams were tied at 79 going into the Monday night game. The Las still had WR Marshall to play. The Dogs still had TE Keller and K Folk to play. The teams duked it out back and forth for 60 minutes. In the end, the Dogs scored their second win of the season. The difference maker in the game may have been benched Las WR Colston who recently returned after a collarbone injury.

Last week may have been the luckiest for the ic chargers. They faced the Dancers who unfortunately lost QB Jason Campbell to a broken collarbone during the game. The injury helped the chargers beat the Dancers 99-92. The chargers had a few good performances. But, their player of the week was definitely RB Bradshaw and his 3 TDs. For the Dancers, recent Easy Wins alum pickup RB Jackson added 22 points to the Dancers score. They also did well by their Bengels DEF.

After a minor setback in week 5, the Pandemic of Love are back to their winning ways as they took out the 2nd place DaBruDoggies 105-81. The Brus were hurt by QB Brees who threw 3 Ints resulting in an uncharacteristic 17 points. Also, the Brus WR squad was almost nonexistent. On the Pandemic's side of the ball, other than the 10 points by their newly acquired Bills DEF, most of the team put up decent numbers and easily handled the Brus.

Speaking of the DaBruDoggies, owner Antonio is in our spotlight.

Spotlight:
IADP's reporters are on a teamwork retreat this week. So we asked Lori, owner of the Love Supremes, to conduct our spotlight interview this week.

Antonio, DaBruDoggies are having a pretty strong season. After being in the league five years, do you have any proven strategies for winning? What is your secret to staying on top?

Well, after five years in the BFL, the one thing I've learned is that there is no proven strategy, as was evident by our 11th place finish last season. You have an owner like Ryan (Pandemic of Love) who studies matchups and researches players each week. Then, you have an owner like Jim (Dabalalas) who just lets it play out. Both have won championships.

My secret for staying above .500 this season isn't much of a revelation. I'm trying not to panic too much when another owner picks up the player I wanted. And, I'm trying not to stress out about who to play each week. Basically, I'm taking a Zen approach to the 2011 season.

Preview:
The DaBruDoggies will try to stay well above .500 as they face the Dancers this week. Madden is projecting huge numbers for the Bru's passing game and decent numbers for their running game. The Dancers had a few possible injury issues, but as of this posting, it looks like the whole team is healthy and expected to play. They will need to play at their best if Madden's prediction comes true.

An interesting matchup over in Bunny Stadium this week. The receiving squad of the Dabalalas will face off against the passing game of the Killer Bunnies. Both teams may have a similar dilemma. Both have injury issues with their starting TE's, and both team's backups are on Byes. This is probably less of an issue for the Bunnies since QB Rodgers and their Jets DEF seem to make up for the rest of the team each week.

The headline for the game between the Cheesesteaks and the Mighty Long Dogs is, "Can The Dogs Continue Their Win Momentum? Can The Cheesesteaks Reclaim Their Glory?" Once again, the Cheesesteaks did a little shopping in the free agent market to search for a winning combination. This is projected to be a tight game. At 10th and 11th place, both teams really want this win. . . and, both really need this win if they want a shot at the playoff race.

Of all weeks for the ic chargers to face the Pandemic of Love, this may be the best. Many of the Pandemic's starters are on Byes this week. The chargers front office looks like it's been busy working out injury issues including shoring up its running game. Despite playing against the Pandemic's backups, IADP believes that the chargers will need to bring everything to the field to take the Love down.

The Love Supremes are on a roll, having won 3 in a row. The Bad Ass Weazels are on a roll, having moved into 3rd place. This is projected to be a close one with the Weazels expected to score more by air versus the Supremes scoring more by ground. A win would be great by either team, but neither is in danger of falling majorly down the leaderboard if they loose.

Our lucky team of the week could use the break. The Lancelot Links will face the Easy Wins, and thus, make it back to .500. There's actually some news out of the Wins camp with QB Beck receiving the starting job over in DC. Even so, the Links should have no problems this week. They are dealing with the Bye Week Shuffle, but having just gotten back from a player scouting trip, their front office will be on top of the situation soon enough.

Good luck all! See you next edition!
