Week 5

This is an important week in the BFL. Not only are we over a third of the way into the season, but it's also the start of the Bye Week Shuffle weeks. So, owners, you've got to make sure that your front offices are on top of things. You don't want to start you games without positions filled because you have players on Byes.

Week 4 Highlights:
It was a good day over in the ic chargers camp. They finally broke their 3 game losing streak, beating the Romosexual Tendencies 119-102. The chargers had a pretty evenly strong effort by their starters. QB Freeman finally put up respectable numbers, WR Hicks finally put up decent numbers, and recent FA pickup WR Lloyd payed off. The Romos did benefit from a bonus for QB Rivers' 55yd TD pass to WR Jackson, but it wasn't enough to keep the chargers down.

The Killer Bunnies saw some not so great numbers from most of their team. But, who cares! QB Rodgers and the Jets DEF had monster games, helping to lead the Bunnies to a 129-82 victory over the Lancelot Links. Rodgers and the Jets more than double the points that the rest of the team scored. The Lancelot Links, didn't have much of a chance against such huge numbers. They had a couple of good WR scores, but it's hard to outscore a QB that almost hits the BFL QB record of 59 points.

After a strong start last season, the Mighty Long Dogs are having trouble staying afloat this year. And, it didn't help that they lost to the Bad Ass Weazels, 127-106. Dogs marquee QB Newton and RB Foster were back to form, putting up good numbers. But, the hero of this game was definitely the Weazel's Ravens DEF and their 3 TDs resulting in a huge 43 points.

The Pandemic of Love wins again. The Cheesesteaks had a decent score, but it was another case of the bench outperforming the starters. The right lineup would have resulted in a Steaks win. The usual Pandemic high scorers (Brady, McCoy, and Welker) put up good numbers, although not the high numbers we normally expect from them. But, it didn't matter because the Pandemic bested the Cheesesteaks 124-102, giving the Steaks their 4th loss in a row.

After starting 0-2, the Dancer have now won 2 in a row. This was a pretty close loss for the Dabalalas, losing 95-89. We at IADP definitely think that QB Flacco lost this one for the Las, putting up a measly 2 points. And, what's even more unfortunate is that backup Schaub only scored 11, but it would have been enough to win it for the Las.

What a game over at SupremArena, where the rookie Love Supremes defeated the DaBruDoggies 105-91. The Supremes victory was all about their running game that accounted for almost half their points and a strong DEF effort. Add to that the bad day that the Bru's big three had. QB Brees, for instance, only threw 1 TD pass instead of his usual 3. RB McFadden scored no TDs in stead of his usual 2. Despite low numbers from most of the rest of their team, the Love Supremes did what it took to knock the Brus down a position on the leader board.

Speaking of the Love Supremes, owner Lori is in our spotlight.

Spotlight:
Lori, you managed to take down the undefeated DaBruDoggies. How did you do it? Also, has being an owner in the BFL been everything you expected it to be?

Well it was a little bit of good luck for the supremes with Matt forte rushing for 200 yards and a little bit of bad luck for dabrudoggies with Brees not having his best game. Michael turner finally had a good game for us too. I must admit it felt good to beat the doggies! Especially after our humiliating loss to the pandemic of love last week. Dabrudoggies have a great team so we definitely got lucky.

Being an owner in the BFL has been a lot of fun so far. I am paying attention to teams I didn't care about before joining the league and that has made the football season more fun in general.

Preview:
The Love Supremes will host the ic chargers. Both teams are on a high, winning last week after losing streaks. If Supremes RB Forte puts up the same effort he did last week, or chargers WR Hicks puts up the big yardage that he did last week, then this should be a tight game. Both teams have handled the Bye Week Shuffle well.

After a tough loss last week, the DaBruDoggies are looking to get back on the winning train by taking down the Romosexuals Tendencies. The Romos have major Bye issues with their starting TE and DEF on Byes and no backups to replace them. The Brus will need their big three to put up the numbers we've grown accustomed to seeing from them.

Expect a slug fest over in Long Stadium as the Lancelot Links face the Mighty Long Dogs. Both teams have now lost two in a row, so this game will mean a lot for the winner. The Long Dogs have been very busy this season in the free agent market trying to find the right combination to lift their team. The Links are heavily favored to win. If they want to live up to the projected win, they'll need QB Roethlisberger to step up and put up better numbers than he has so far this season.

As one of only two remaining undefeated teams in the league, the Bad Ass Weazels are on fire this season. They face the Killer Bunnies who are on a two game win streak. Madden doesn't see the Bunnies putting up huge numbers. Hopefully, QB Rodgers will have another monster game and carry the team to a win again.

If ever a team could use a win right now, it would definitely be the Cheesesteaks who are facing their worst start ever. And, they are facing the Dancers who have winning momentum going into week 5. A possible ray of hope for the Steaks is the Dancers' RB situation. RB Jacobs is expected to be doubtful this week. With his backups on Byes, a dilemma may be on the horizon. Of course, the Steaks are in a similar situation with RB Wells, but the Steaks front office is a little better off Bye wise.

The Dabalalas have the unfortunate task of taking on the mighty Pandemic of Love. The Las will need everything in their arsenal to take down the Love. Las QB Schaub is going to need to step up and put up the numbers he did two weeks ago. And, their Falcons DEF will have their work cut out for them against the powerful Green Bay offense. It's no surprise that the Love are favored to win this one. Perhaps the fantasy gods have something good in store for the Las.

Good luck all! See you next edition!
