Week 3

This is what IADP reporters overheard in the Lancelot Links' locker room this week.

"We are the Links Shufflin' Crew. Shufflin' on down, doin' it for you. We're so bad we know we're good. Blowin' your mind like we knew we would."

Week 2 Highlights:
The Pandemic of Love dominated the league once again, humbling the Love Supremes 151-78. The Supremes had an unfortunate week with two players scoring very low and two scoring nothing at all. The Pandemic once again benefited from strong performances from a select few members of their squad. The only sad part about the Pandemic's performance is that they were a mere 1 point away from tying In It To Win It's BFL record for most points scored by a team.

After placing runner up last season, the Dancers are off to a rough start with their second loss in a row, this time to the Romosexual Tendencies 110-93. The Dancers fought hard. But, with low overall numbers from their receiving squad, they couldn't keep up with the Romos. The Dancers also had the misfortune of having benched players who outscored their starting counterparts.

Last season was a downer for the previously perpetual playoff contender DaBruDoggies, finishing the season in 11th place. Their 132-110 win over the Killer Bunnies has them off to a strong start this season. The Bunnies played well and did well by Jets defense and QB Rodgers, who scored a bonus 2. But, the Bru's running game was on fire. And, QB Brees also benefited from a bonus 2.

172 Rec Yds! 2 Rec TDs! A broken rib and punctured lung! What more can you say about the Bad Ass Weazels and their 119-81 win over the Dabalalas. QB Romo left the game (temporarily) with the injuries, but came back and finish the game with 27 points for the Weazels. And, WR Jackson put up a monster 29 points. With numbers like that, the Las chances were slim, especially with single digits by most of the team, including QB Flacco's 2 Int's.

The ic chargers had a couple of great numbers. RB Best ran all over with 23 points. The Saints DEF had 6 sacks and a recovered fumble for 22 points. The Mighty Long Dogs had a couple of great numbers also. RB Hillis had a couple of TDs and garnered 21 points. K Folk was camped out between the uprights for a total of 12. But, the difference maker in this game was definitely Dogs WR Austin's 3 TDs which put 32 points on the Dogs side of the scoreboard and lifted them over the chargers 119-99.

How 'bout them Lancelot Links?! Or, should we say, "Man, how 'bout that Vick?!" The 128-123 outcome between the Lancelot Links and the Cheesesteaks will probably go down in BFL history as one of the most surprising endings ever. Sunday evening, the Lances are ahead by 5 points. With a quarter and a half still to play, it's a given that Steaks QB Vick will score enough to move ahead of the Lances. All of a sudden, the fantasy football gods shone down on Links owner Joey, and Vick went down. Injured. Unable to return. And thus, the reigning Kibble Bowl Champion dropped to 0-2 and the Links remained one of four remaining undefeated teams.

Speaking of the Lancelot Links, owner Joey is in our spotlight this week.

Spotlight:
Joey, IADP has to know, were you on the edge of your seat when Michael Vick went down in the third quarter of Sunday night's game? What was the mood like in the Links front office when the final whistle blew and you saw that you had won the game?

Coach Barkley is pleased by this week's unexpected, underdog victory! Politics aside, this locker room has a soft spot for the animals, and perhaps it was no mistake that a certain QB was taken out of the game.  Major players were recruited from Humane Society of Fairfax County to be certain that the chimps chomped on cheesesteak!

Adopt!  Treat your beasties with love and respect and you too can beat a projected 180 over 109 stampede!  Or, let Barkley choose your starting line-up for you... it'll cost you a couple of Milk-Bones... :)

For those owners who aren't aware, Coach Barkley also happens to be man's/Joey's best friend.

Preview:
You can be sure that the Lancelot Links will do their best to capitalize on their momentum. And, you can be sure that the Dabalalas will do their best to get above .500. With this game projected to be a fairly even matchup, it may just come down to will.

This week, QB Michael Vick is listed as questionable. RB Beanie Wells, questionable. TE Dallas Clark, questionable. Questionable just about sums up the season so far for the Cheesesteaks. They have one of the highest point-producing QB's in the league. And, they are #3 on the scoring leaderboard. But, they haven't been able to put up a W. They'll be travelling to Bad Ass Arena to face the undefeated Bad Ass Weazels. The Cheesesteaks are projected to win, but with the Steaks luck, the Asses may remain undefeated. We shall see.

The ic chargers are on a two game losing streak and their schedule doesn't get any easier this week as they face the Killer Bunnies. With the likes of marquee QB Rodgers, the Bunnies are Killers indeed. It looks like the chargers will have to rely on their running game if they want to take down the Bunnies.

When reporting on any Pandemic of Love game these days, we at IADP always end up debating on whether to gear the story toward the headline, "How Much Will The Pandemic Win By This Week?" The Love are undefeated, they are in 1st place, and they sit atop the score leaderboard. Their opponent, the Romosexual Tendencies, might want to get in some extra practice sessions. They may have a chance if they put the ball up in the air with the likes of QB Rivers and WR Fitzgerald.

Madden expects the matchup between the Love Supremes and the Dancers to be a highscorer. Both teams are expected to do well on the ground. The Supremes also have the added advantage of Buffalo QB Fitzpatrick. Both teams seam to be healthy.

One might think that having QB Payton Manning (in his current state) on your roster would mean doom for you team. Fortunately for the Mighty Long Dogs, they have one the best rookie QB's ever in Cam Newton, who is currently ranked #2 in the NFL. That's one position higher than QB Drew Brees, whom Newton will be playing against as the Long Dogs face the DaBruDoggies. Expect to see a whole lot of passing from both teams.

Good luck all! See you next edition!
