Week 2

An exciting opening week in the BFL. Lots of great defensive scores. A champion was taken down. A tie. Yup folks. Fantasy football is back!

Week 1 Highlights:
It was a good week for our rookie Love Supremes who took down second year vet Romosexual Tendencies 103-86. The Supremes benefited from a strong passing performance and a defensive squad that created 4 sacks and a TD. Unfortunately for the Romos, they had little to no running game. And, their passing game was so so.

The Dancers put up a pretty solid performance. RB Rice put up an impressive 26 points. WR Britt had a strong 25. Sadly, The Dancers had to face the Pandemic of Love who, despite most of the team scoring in single digits, relied heavily on their 49ers DST, WR Welker's 28 points, RB McCoy's 25, and QB Brady's impressive 44 points, which included a bonus for his 99 yard TD pass to Welker. In the end, the Dancers fell to the Love 148-111.

The Killer Bunnies did well by QB Rodgers' 3 TDs and a strong DST that scored a TD all its own. Unfortunately for the Mighty Long Dogs, marquee RB Arian Foster ended up not playing in week 1. What's even more unfortunate is that Miami's newly acquired RB Reggie Bush was active and showed his worth. Sadly, on the Dogs squad, his worth was only shown on the bench and would have made the difference in the 111-93 outcome of the game.

It's always a fun week in the BFL when a last place team takes down a reigning Kibble Bowl Champion. Such was the case as the former dynasty Dabalalas took down the Cheesesteaks 121-110. Other than WR Johnson's 20 points, the Las players didn't put up huge numbers individually. But, as a team, they put up a well balanced game. Also, kudos to the Las kicking game, which put up 13. The Cheesesteaks didn't have a bad game. QB Vick was up to his usual. WR Smith dominated. But, they just weren't able to outscore the Las.

Although rare in the NFL, tie games seem to be more common in the BFL. For the second year in a row, we've seen a tie, this time between the Bad Ass Weazels and the Lancelot Links, 84-84. The two teams got there from different sides of the ball. The Weazels scored mostly by way of their passing and defensive games. The Links game was all about their receiving corp. We'll have to wait a while to see how the tie plays out in the playoff picture.

It was a good day over in Woof Stadium, which saw the DaBruDoggies take down their OG rival ic chargers 112-94. Doggies QB Brees was back to form. And, despite not scoring any TDs, franchised RB McFadden had a solid 150 yards of rushing. The Brus also did well by their Eagles defense. Both teams are suffering from a common ailment. Both have Indianapolis Colts WRs on their squad. With QB Manning being out, receiving points are harder to come by. The Doggies were fortunate enough to get 3 out of Garcon. The chargers, not so much with Collie receiving none.

Preview:
The ic chargers and the Mighty Long Dogs are both coming off of losses. Their matchup looks fairly even, and both are projected to score about the same. So, this game is hard to call. We at IADP like to call this sort of game a "Coin Tosser". It could go either way.

The Dabalalas continue their quest to return back to the top of the league. Their next hurdle is the Bad Ass Weazels. The question for the Las is whether they'll have a kicker or not. Janikowski is dealing with legal issues since he was recently charged with battery and false imprisonment. As of this posting, it's unkown whether he'll be available to play this week. After scoring 13 last week, one might think that this would be a factor this week. But, with Madden predicting low numbers for the kicker, this should cause minimal affect on the rest of the Las team.

The Cheesesteaks are projected to have a monster game against the Lancelot Links. It looks like the ball will be in the air much of the game for the Steaks. . . That is, if QB Vick doesn't score all of his points on the ground himself. The Links have the talent to make a stand with a solid receiving corp. And, hopefully, QB Roethlisberger will have a better game than last week where he only put up 7 points.

The DaBruDoggies look like they'll have WR issues this week. Amendola and Rice are not expected to play. And, Garcon doesn't have a marquee QB to throw to him. So, the Doggies will have to rely on running and passing to pick up the slack as they face the Killer Bunnies. The Bunnies look good this week. If QB Rodgers and TE Gates do as well as Madden 2K12 thinks they will, this may be a check in the win column for the Killers.

It looks like the Dancers are, much like the Redskins, putting the game in the hands of QB Grossman. And, the Dancers also have the good fortune of being able to put their running game in RB Rice's very capable hands. They'll be facing the passing game of the Romosexual Tendencies. Madden has the two teams fairly even. It looks like the running game may make the difference in this one.

In our IADP Game O' The Week, the Love Supremes have the unenviable task of taking on the Pandemic of Love. The Pandemic's starting squad is completely healthy. And, barring any unusual circumstances, they will probably put up huge numbers once again. It looks like the Supremes will need to rely on their running corp if they want to take down the Love. We at IADP headquarters are calling this game "Love 'em Or Lose 'em!"

By the way, for those who weren't aware, the Pandemic are actually currently under the direction of interim coach Kendrick, who is filling in for owner/coach Ryan who is currently gallivanting around Europe.

Good luck all! See you next edition!

Oh, how I've missed the Dog Pound. Now, will somone please break my least points scored by a team record? Preferably while I'm playing them.
