Week 8

Exciting times in the BFL. An undefeated team goes down. A winless team almost wins. A couple of tight finishes. And now, we enter week 8 with four games that involve teams with the exact same record and the playoffs are still up for grabs for a few teams. Another typical week in the BFL.

Week 7 Highlights:
It's no surprise that The Dancers beat the DaBruDoggies 100-84. It's also no surprise that "Doggies" QB Drew Brees added to his unfortunate season by throwing 4 Int's. Oh, and one more non-surprise. The "Brus" kept RB Darren McFadden on the bench. A costly mistake since McFadden scored a monster four TD's which would have resulted in a BFL record breaking 43 points. This game puts another check in The Dancer win column and a fourth W in a row, a record for the Dancers.

With another win this past week, this time, over the Romosexual Tendencies 145-98, it looks like this may be the year of the The Lancelot Links. The "Romos" had a pretty good game with double digits from most of the team, and a score that tied their second highest score this season. But, their performance was overshadowed by the mighty The Lancelot Links. Also, something to point out, "The Lance's" WR Roddy White broke his own BFL most points scored by a WR record by 1 point.

Up until the fourth quarter of Monday night's game, the Bad Ass Weazels were ahead of In It to Win It. Then, the score was tied at 93 points for most of that quarter. But, then came the final two minutes when the Dallas Cowboys tried a last ditch effort to come back against the NY Giants. That's when "Wins" TE Jason Witten racked up a bunch of yards to break the tie and help the "Win's" beat the "Weazels" 96-93. The "Wins" were fortunate to pull this one off, having started WR Malcolm Floyd who was ruled inactive. Also, QB Tony Romo had to leave the game early due to a clavicle injury.

IADP predicted that this would be the week that saw a win for the Dabalalas. . . We were wrong. The "Las" were ahead 24 points going into the Monday night game. But, with the Killer Bunnies left with a WR and RB still to play, the game was up in the air. Unfortunately, for the "Las", the "Bunnies" came down with the ball and defeated the "Dabs" 109-106. The Dabalalas have now lost 7 in a row, which matches their win streak record.

It's kind of hard to win a fantasy football game, or an NFL game for that matter, with a QB who fumbles and throws 4 Int's and a WR who only touches the ball once, resulting in a fumble. But, that was the case for the Cheesesteaks who lost to The Mighty Long Dogs 85-74. This was actually "The Dogs" lowest point total this season with most of the team scoring in single digits. Fortunately for "The Dogs", they got solid performances by their QB and DST, a contrast from the rest of the squad, which didn't produce much.

The mighty St Louis Pandemic of Love have finally been taken down a notch by the now 8th place ic chargers 85-83. As of Sunday night, the "Love" were ahead by 11 points, but the "chargers" still had 2 WR's to play on Monday. Of course, the "chargers" got it done, knocking the "Love" down from their 1st place perch and protecting the Dabalalas longest winning streak record of 7.

Speaking of the ic chargers, their owner Mike is in our spotlight.

Spotlight:
Mike, you managed to take down the titans that are the St Louis Pandemic of Love. Was the champagne flowing in the "chargers" front office? Also, you've got a tough schedule ahead of you, including The Lancelot Links, Killer Bunnies, and The Mighty Long Dogs, three teams in the top quarter of the league. Can the ic chargers pull another "David" and knock down these three Goliaths?

I didn't do it for me. I did it for the 72' Dolphins. And to paraphrase former NFL coach Herman Edwards" thats why we play the game. To WIN!!"

Preview:
After a 1-2 start, The Dancers have been on a role, and have now won 4 in a row. This week, they take on The Mighty Long Dogs. Both teams are 5-2. And, they are 5th and 4th place respectively. A The Dancers win would move them up a notch on the leader board. A "Dogs" win would add to their currently successful BFL rookie season. As of this posting, Madden has this game pretty even. So, this should be a good one.

In this weeks game between In It to Win It and the Cheesesteaks, it looks like there is currently some a bit of uncertainty over in the "Wins" camp. With various injuries and byes, the "Wins" front office is likely to be very busy this week. On the other side of the ball, the Cheesesteaks seem to have their teem together and have handled the bye week shuffle well. The question for them is can the "Steaks" get it done. They could use the much needed win.

Our third game pits two teams who, at this point, are pretty much playing for pride. The 10th place Romosexual Tendencies are traveling to Lalaland Stadium to face the 12th place Dabalalas. With Madden predicting a slight win for them, this may be the "Las'" game to lose. The "Romos" have quite the fight ahead of them as the "Las" are expected to use their passing and running games to their advantage. We at IADP are calling this game the "Battle of the Basement!"

Even though their season is pretty much a loss, and they are playing the mighty The Lancelot Links, you can bet that the lowly DaBruDoggies will do whatever they can to not end the season with only 1 win. Both teams have been hit by the bye week shuffle this week, so both front offices have some work to do. The "Doggies" should probably take a page from the ic chargers playbook after their stunner last week.

The ic chargers have a little momentum in their favor this week as they visit the Bad Ass Weazels. And, they'll need it because the "Weazels" are fighting to not fall below their 6th place status. So far, the "chargers" lineup looks pretty solid compared with the "Asses" who have some bye week issues to deal with. It looks like this game will be all about the "Asses" running game against the "chargers" receiving game.

The Killer Bunnies may need to put in some extra practices this week since they are playing the St Louis Pandemic of Love who are coming off of their first loss this season. You can bet that the "Love" are looking to take out their frustrations on the "Bunnies". We expect the "Saints" to take this one, but hopefully the "Killers" front office will make this a closer game, and maybe even produce an upset.

Good luck all! See you next edition!
