Week 14

IADP would like to make an apology. In researching the rules for playoff seeds in order to write this weeks post, we discovered that our reporting on the playoff hunt over the past couple of editions was slightly incorrect. As a result, we've decided to post the rules in this post so that there is no confusion.

". . . 4 teams from the league will make the playoffs: the 3 division leaders (the team with the best win/loss record in each division) and a wildcard team, which is the team with the best win/loss record in the league, excluding the 3 division leaders." - NFL.com Fantasy Rules

If there is a tie for the order of playoff seeds, the following tie-breakers will be used.

1. Year-To-Date ("YTD") Points Scored
2. YTD Points Against

If there is a tie for a division lead, the following tie-breakers will be used.
1. Division Record
2. YTD Points Scored

If there is a tie for a Wildcard spot, the following tie-breakers will be used:
1. YTD Points Scored
2. YTD Points Against

Week 13 Highlights:
After an impressive late season 4 game win streak, The Dancers hit a wall. That wall was the Average Joes who won 84-75. This was a welcome win for the "Joes" who were facing seeing their names in the BFL record book for longest losing streak after having lost 3 in a row.

It was a close one, but the Dabalalas managed to take out The Bad-Ass Bug 88-82. A lineup change by the "Bug" could have made a difference in the game in that the "Bug's" reserve TE scored 11 points, as opposed to their starter who scored 0. But, this is fantasy football. We all know that, often times, it's a crap shoot. The "Las" are on a 4 game win streak for the second time this season, and this win keeps them tied with the i c chargers for first place in the West Division.

cheesesteaks owner Kurt threw in the towel two weeks ago. That move seems to be the key to the "steaks" winning ways of late. The "steaks" have made a late season surge with a two game win streak, this time beating the St. Louis Pandemic of Love 119-101. One hates to use would've/should've too often, but the "Love" could've won this one had they started WR Robert Meachem who scored 20 points instead of Chris Chambers who only scored 1.

The DaBruDoggies won an important division game against Running Wild 95-66. The "Wild" had an unfortunate game for the third week in a row, this time scoring their second lowest points of the season. The "Doggies" didn't have great numbers, but they benefitted from solid performances by their Carolina DST and their marquee QB Drew Brees. The win solidifies the DaBruDoggies as the East Division winner, and thus, a playoff spot.

Our lucky team of last week was lucky twice over. Not only did The Good Kind of Limping Scrod draw the Easy Wins, beating them 98-29, but their automatic win, in conjunction with the St. Louis Pandemic of Love's loss, puts them back in sole 1st place in the Central Division.

The i c chargers have become the team to beat. The Pan Troglodytes took on the challenge, but couldn't handle the task as they were crushed by the "chargers" 129-85. With three players scoring in the 20s, and only two players scoring single digits, this game was a lock for the "chargers." With this win, the i c chargers have set the new BFL record for longest win streak with 5 in a row. Speaking of the i c chargers, their owner, Mike, is in our spotlight this week.

Spotlight:
Mike, the i c chargers have become quite the powerhouse. You've set the new winning streak record, you've had six games of 100 points or more, and you have the best division record in the West Division. After missing the playoffs in seasons 1 and 2 of the BFL, is this THE year for the "chargers"?

Yes-this is our year due to players finally playing up to there potential.Hopefully it will carry over to the playoffs.

Previews:
The Bad-Ass Bug travels to The Pan Troglodytes to end their 2 game losing streak. The problem is, the "Trogs" are also trying to end their 3 game losing streak. Both teams are out of the playoff hunt, but IADP is sure that both would like to end the season with a win.

Also looking to end on a win after having a bad streak are Running Wild. Standing in their way, and looking to end the season at .500 are the Average Joes. After some tweaking, this game should be about even.

Our lucky team of the week is the cheesesteaks as they travel to the Easy Wins. The "steaks" have had a rough season, but they can hold their heads high knowing that they'll finish out the season with some pretty high scores and a 3 game win streak.

Since the DaBruDoggies have already made it into the playoffs, the outcome of this week's game against The Dancers is all about whether The Dancers can finish out the season with a winning record. This game should be about even, but hopefully The Dancers can pull it out.

Both the i c chargers and the Dabalalas have made it into the playoffs. But, in their matchup this week, they'll be playing each other to determine their seeds in the playoffs. At 9-4, they are both tied for best record in the league and first place in the West Division. Basically, whichever team wins will be the division winner and the loser will become the wildcard.

Our game of the week is a major one that will determine the leagues final playoff spot. The St. Louis Pandemic of Love will host their division rival The Good Kind of Limping Scrod. Why is this game important? Because, the winner of this game will win the division. At only one game behind the "Scrod", this is a must win for the "Love." The win would create a tie for the two teams overall and divisionally. But, with the "Scrod" currently 104 points behind the "Love" on the leader board, a "Love" win would give them the playoff spot. Of course, that means this is a must win for the "Scrod" also.

Good luck all! See you next edition!

cheesesteaks two year veteran, running back, and team captain Brandon Jacobs had this to say in this morning's press conference....

"We are so angry about the recent developments of the playoff positions. Last year, we had the record and were short on pts. This year, we have the pts and not the record. Being that we are in prime position to possibly have the most pts for the season, owner Kurt Boehm refuses to comment. It's been a tough season and this just tops it off. The entire team may be replaced before Sunday to hand the Easy Wins its first ever win."

Boehm then came into the Press Conference with a cigarette lit and a bottle of Whiskey (empty) slurring his words and throwing everything in sight. He had one audible comment... "Merry Christmas you filthy animals!"

Then the sound of a rapid-fire machine gun filled the Press area....then Macauly Culkin came in and hit coach Kurt Boehm in the head with a frying pan...Culkin could be heard saying as he left the conference, "I thought he was Joe Pesci"

Um, so I'm going to take this oppurtunity to say it's been a great season, and I'll see you all next year! good luck in the playoffs, seeing as how i'm going to get schooled today, and lose very badly.
