We're down to the final stretch, the "division stretch." The stretch that determines who could make it to the playoffs and who could be watching them at home (or work) on their computers. This stretch is important because, not only are playoff spots determined by win/loss records, but by division records. If team A and team B are in the same division, and both teams have the same win/loss record, then it all comes down to how well they played their division opponents. You can check out how it all works at Playoff Rules.
Week 11 Highlights:
After winning their last three in a row, the mighty Running Wild were taken down a notch by the Dabalalas 84-71. This was the "Wild's" lowest point total since week 4, and they are now duking it out with the DaBruDoggies for first place in the East Division. The "Las" are in a similar situation in that they are now duking it out with the i c chargers for first place in the West Division.
For only the third time this season, the low scoring DaBruDoggies scored in the 100s in a 122-87 win over the cheesesteaks. Unfortunately for the cheesesteaks, their talented players didn't live up to expectations once again. At this point, it looks like the "steaks" will be finishing out the season playing for pride. The DaBruDoggies, on the other hand, are now tied with Running Wild for first place in the East Division and will be fighting to topple the "Wild" in an effort to gain a playoff spot.
For the second week in a row, the St. Louis Pandemic of Love have put up an uncharacteristically low score, this time losing to the i c chargers 77-109. The "chargers" have now won three in a row and remain tied for first place in the West Division. The secondary story here is that the St. Louis Pandemic of Love have finally been knocked out of first place on the leader board, and are no longer the perpetual wild card that they have been for the past several weeks.
The Dancers had their best week yet as they knocked over The Pan Troglodytes 139-122. The "Trogs" 122 points amounts to a decent performance and would normally mean a win. But, against The Dancers, with great efforts by QB Eli Manning (31), RB Ricky Williams (30), and WR Terrell Owens (25), as well as two other players with double digits, there was little question who would take this one. The bad news is that the "Trogs" loss knocked them out of the West Division's three-way first place tie they've shared with the Dabalalas and i c chargers over the past few weeks. The good news is that the "Trogs" scored enough points to put them in first place on the leader board, thus putting them into the wild card spot.
Thanks to powerful performances by the Patriots DST and WR Calvin Johnson, The Good Kind of Limping Scrod beat the Average Joes 117-106. "The Joes" had a well balanced game, with all but two players scoring double digits. But, "The Scrod" was too much. This win puts "The Scrod" in sole first place of the central division after having been tied with the St. Louis Pandemic of Love for the past two weeks.
The Bad-Ass Bug went into week 11 with a three game losing streak on their backs, so their game against the Easy Wins was right on time. The "Bug" put up a well balanced game and won 83-41.
Note To Owners:
There is no Spotlight or Previews this week. IADP editor, head reporter, distributor, and statistician Antonio, along with The Good Kind of Limping Scrod owner Andi, are currently taking a brief vacation in Atlantic City for some gambling of a different sort. As a result, this edition of IADP has been scheduled to automatically post. Rest assured they will be watching the Thanksgiving games in the comfort of a deluxe room at Caesars.
Good luck all! See you next edition!
