Week 9

Going into Week 9, a few teams are on the doorstep of the playoffs. And, with only three teams above .500, the middle of the pack is pretty crowded. Folks, we're two-thirds of the way into the season. Do you know where your team's playoff chances lie?

Week 8 Highlights:
The DaBruDoggies handed the Pandemic of Love their fourth loss in a row, winning 127-81. This game could've been named The Drew Brees Show, as QB Brees put up a monster 60 points thanks to 7 TD's (2 of those to Brus WR Cooks), 500+ passing yards, and a bonus 2 for a 53 yard TD. The Pandemic saw TD's from two of their receivers and their Vikings Special Teams. But, the heart-breaker for them was at the QB position. Starter Stafford only managed 10 points, where as, backup Manning had a monster effort with 52 points. For the Brus, Brees' 60 points puts him in 2nd place on the BFL's most points scored by a QB and a single player records.

Not a whole lot of passing going on between the ic chargers and the Killer Bunnies. ic QB Bridgewater threw just a single TD and Bunnies QB Rodgers was held in check with none. But, both teams' receivers were on it. The Bunnies receivers put up 2 TD's and the chargers combined for 4. The difference maker in this game was the chargers Bengals DST which helped the icees overtake the Bunnies 101-81.

There were a whole lot of BFL owners watching intently to see if the Bad Ass Weazels would be the team to take down the Love Supremes. But, alas, it didn't happen. The Supies handily took out the Weazels 160-95. Of course, Supies QB Brady was on fire as he has been all season, putting up 4 TD's. And, the Supies saw double digits from all but 2 players on the team, especially from WR Beckham and his 3 TD catches. The Asses did well by QB Newton's 2 TD's and a strong effort from WR Crabtree. But, they were just latest domino knocked over by the Mighty Love

The Cheesesteaks have been on it lately, having won their third game in a row after beginning the season 0-5. They put up their second best score of the season and beat the Mighty Long Dogs 92-77. It looks like Longdogs QB Tannehill may have been responsible for their loss. The QB didn't record a single TD and threw 2 Int's. Also, starting WR Brown wasn't a factor since his coach kept him on the sideline. The Steaks saw better efforts from their passing game. Unfortunately for the Cheeses, they lost RB Bell for the rest of the season after a knee injury, possible affecting their recent success in the near future.

The Lancelot Links have once again proven why they are the highest scoring BFL team ever by beating the Half Smokes 158-88. It didn't help the Smokies that they lost recently acquired RB Robinson to a broken tibia during the game. The Links accomplished double digits from all but one player. And, the offense combined for 8 TD's, half of those belonging to QB Palmer, one of those being a 60 yarder for a bonus 2.

It was a close one, but the Dancers managed to top the Dabalalas 93-89. The Dancers made most of their points on offense. Their standouts included RB Lewis and WR Jeffery who both produced 100+ total yards and a single TD. The Las made most of theirs through special teams and defense. Their standouts included K Vinatieri and his 4 field goals, one of which being a 50+ yarder.

Game Of The Week Preview:

Yes, the Love Supremes are once again in our Game of the Week. But, this week's post is more about their opponent, the Cheesesteaks. The Steaks have been on fire lately having won their last three. This week may be a bit of a struggle for the Steaks, though. Not only will they face the mighty Love, but they're pretty banged up. As of this posting, seven players on their roster are listed as not having practiced, limited in practice, or injured. So, the Steaks outcome may just depend on whether they have enough healthy players, especially receivers.

For the Supies, what is there to say? They obviously know how to score. They know how to win. They just need to continue what their doing.

Good luck all! See you next edition!
