Week 3

A whole lot of movement happening on the ranking front going into Week 3! The Love Supremes dropped from 2nd to 8th. The Dancers jumped from 9th to 5th. The only thing that is certain? You just can't get too comfortable when you're an owner in the BFL. There's always someone younger and hungrier coming down the stairs after you.

Week 2 Highlights:
The Dabalalas started inactive TE Gates. They saw only 1 point from RB Bradshaw. Fortunately, RB Richardson got the job done. Add to that, a great game by the Bills DST. The result, 101-96 win over the Bad Ass Weazels. The Weazels also put up a strong defensive effort. And QB Rivers threw 3 TD passes. The Asses were definitely let down by their running game and its combined 7 points.

After a strong 120 points in week 1, the Love Supremes took a step back, losing to the Pandemic of Love 100-87. It looks like the blame should be on the Supies receivers. WR Jackson was the only receiver to score more than 1 point. Even marquee WR Fitzgerald scored not a single point. The Pandemic didn't see huge numbers from any single member of their team, but their balanced game was enough to keep them undefeated.

The Dancers went from having a good week 1 to a great week 2 as they toppled the Wonder Twin Powers 140-98. For the second week in a row, the Twins had a decent game, but each time, they went against a team that pushed just hard enough to stay ahead. The Dancers can attribute their win to their WR core's impressive 48 total points.

After a shaky start to the season, the DaBruDoggies triumphed with a pretty lopsided 125-87 victory over the Killer Bunnies. Despite an uncharacteristic 21 points from QB Brees and no points at all from TE Finley, the Brus were able to rely on a couple of TD's by WR Bowe, a mess of field goals from K Gostkowski, and 7 sacks and 4 INT's by their Packers DST. Most surprising on the Bunnies squad was QB Rodgers' modest 12 points. Also, RB Morris was outscored by his team QB Griffin III.

The jets seemed to have cooled down for the Lancelot links with a 33% drop in points from last week. And, that drop happened on both sides of the team. Most notably, their RB's which combined for 15 and a defense that allowed 27 points. On the other side of the ball, the Cheesesteaks managed slightly better thanks to their kicker who out-kicked their opposite by 10 points. In the end, it was a victory for the Cheesesteaks 99-88.

ic chargers QB P. Manning had a bad week 2, throwing 3 INT's and a single TD. Those INT's were probably the reason the chargers lost to the Mighty Long Dogs 106-90. The biggest bright spot for the chargers was definitely TE Davis' 2 TD's. The Dogs lost TE Hernandez to an ankle injury on Sunday, but were still able to pull it out thanks to a solid game by QB Newton and a running squad that combined for 31. The Dogs are one of only three teams still undefeated going into week 3.

Speaking of the Mighty Long Dogs, their owner Bud is in our spotlight.

Spotlight:
Bud, week 3. 1st place! Give us the scoop. What's your plan to keep the Mighty Long Dogs in the upper echelon of the BFL in 2012?

THE Mighty Long Dogs have always considered ourselves part of the BFL Elite despite what the critics howl. We solidified this by fetching the Saint Bernard Division Championship in our rookie year of 2010. Most of our plan for this year has already been implemented as we put much more time, effort & doggie treats into this year's draft and we see the difference. Add to that our 1st ever opening day win against our arch cross-room rivals, THE Killer Bunnies and the tone for our season is set. (Love ya Pookie!) Coach Maggie has both the players & fans jacked for what could be our best season ever. Her philosophy is simple: "Our plan A is being GOOD but we count on Luck as a pretty good plan B." We're looking forward to our up coming play date with the BruDogs and are confident on coming away with the early division sweep. We're hopeful this will leave the gate open for us to run rampant through the other divisions. Of course...... there is a small part of us that know that each and every one of these words is jinxing our season and that the light at the end of the tunnel is really a speeding train about to go off the tracks. So thanks for nothin', Commish! (damn.... DAMN... DAMN! {He shakes fist in the Commissioner's general direction.})

Preview:
The Mighty Long Dogs hope to make it 3-0 as they face the DaBruDoggies this week. The Mighties front office went on a major shopping spree at the free agent market, perhaps to shore up the team's future since the only free agent picked up that's expected to contribute is K Vinatieri. The DaBruDoggies look to rely on ol' reliables QB Brees and RB McFadden to run up the score.

The Lancelot Links hope to bounce back after a disappointing loss. Standing in their way is the Dabalalas' running game. RB Spiller is projected to put up another high scorer. The Links are expected to counter with a balanced air attack, especially since three of their receivers have Superbowl winning QB's throwing to them. We at IADP expect this to be a close one.

The Bad Ass Weazels are having a rough start this season. It won't help that they'll face the 2-0 Cheesesteaks. The Steaks haven't put up huge numbers yet, but as long as they outscore their opponents, who cares? What's hurting the Weazels the most is RB Johnson who just hasn't been producing this year. Of course, the Titans have been lacking in general.

Can the Killer Bunnies dig themselves out of their 11th placed ranking, or will the ic chargers throw more dirt in that hole this week? The Bunnies may have a chance if RB Morris and marquee QB Rodgers can both put up the type numbers they had in week 1. For the chargers, this may just come down to whether QB Manning can handle the #1 ranked passing defense of the Texans.

The Wonder Twin Powers are yearning for their first taste of victory this week. The unfortunate thing is that they'll be looking across the field at the Pandemic of Love. The Twins should do well if QB Roethlisberger throws another INT free game like he did last week. Also, their Eagles DST should have no problem dominating the lowly Arizona offense. The only question on the Love's side is whether RB McCoy will get the huge numbers he is guru'd to get. We're guessing that number isn't so far off against the not-so-great Arizona run defense.

The Dancers have a lot of expectations to live up to this week with the guru predicting a record-breaking score. Of course, with the likes of RB's Rice and Bush, the Dancers should expect good numbers. Their opponents, the Love Supremes, scored one of the biggest hires this season in QB Griffin III and should do well by him in this game, as well as, likely, the rest of the season. So, will it be the Dancers by ground? Or, the Love by air? Hmm...

Good luck all! See you next edition!
