Week 13

It's the final countdown! Da Da Daa Daaa, Da Da Da Da Daaa, Da Da Daa Daaa Daa Daa Daa! Some are heading for the playoffs, and still others stand tall as they finish their 2011 BFL Seasons. And, we'll miss them so.

Week 12 Highlights:
It was a rough one for the ic chargers who lost to the Mighty Long Dogs 102-88. It didn't help the chargers that their receiving squad combined for just 12 points. The Dogs fared better. Especially with WR Robinson and his 2 TDs. This game had no playoff implication.

A team finally managed to stop the tidal wave called the Love Supremes. That team was the Pandemic of Love who won 104-87. For the second week in a row, the Supies scored below their average. Fortunately, QB Manning helped keep this game from being a bloodbath since the Supies runners only combined for 13 and their receivers combined for 19. The Love had a few skunkers, but managed a win thanks to marquee QB Brady.

The Easy Wins impressed with a solid 38 points. Their standout was definitely WR Norwood who scored a TD and finished with 12 points. Unfortunately for the Wins, they had to face the Dancers who outscored them 102-38. The Dancers' standout was definitely QB Ryan's 28 points. Also, RB Lynch impressed with 19.

It was quite the battle between the DaBruDoggies and the Killer Bunnies. The Bunnies were ahead 99-73 going into the Monday night game. The Brus still had QB Brees to play. The Bunnies still had WR Cruz. Brees put up a monster effort with 300+ passing yds, 4 passing TDs, and a rushing TD, which tied the score up at 117. But, Cruz caught a huge TD pass in the 4th quarter and solidified the 126-117 win for the Killers.

The Lancelot Links managed to end the Cheesesteaks late season winning streak and add to a winning streak all their own, beating the Steaks 102-95. This game was all about RB Wells for the Cheeses. Wells ran for a monster 228 yds (earning him a bonus 2), and scored a TD, resulting in 28 points. The Links didn't have a huge game by any single player, but did put up a well balanced game. Of note, their receiving core combined for 58 points.

Normally when a coach starts a game without a QB, it's a guaranteed win for the opposing team. But, when that coach is Jim, and you have the "luck o' the Lawson" in your pocket, that guarantee goes out the window. Such was the case for the Bad Ass Weazels, who lost to the Dabalalas 111-89. Other than the lack of a QB, the Las were operating on all cylinders. Of note, Las TE Graham came strong scoring 20. Also, for the second time this season, K Janikowski's 19 points tied the BFL kicking record. The Weazels can thank their DEF's 27 points for keeping them from scoring well below their 97 point team average.

Speaking of the Bad Ass Weazels, owner Dayton is in our spotlight.

Spotlight:

Dayton, you've solidified your place in the playoffs, so last week's loss wasn't a game-changer. But, IADP has to know, what was your reaction before the game when you saw that your opponent would start the game without a QB? And, what was your reaction when you saw the final score?

After looking over the team before the game I was mildly optimistic, but by 4pm I knew if you dipped my team in Preparation H they’d disappear. Hopefully my players will get their collective heads out of their butts for the rest of the season.

Preview:
The Bad Ass Weazels will now head to Philadelphia to take on the Cheesesteaks. The reigning BFL Champion Cheesesteaks will hopefully end their unfortunate season on a win. But, they can't expect the Weazels to run and hide. After losing to a quarterbackless team last week, the Asses will most likely be fired up and ready to run over whoever is in their way.

The final game of the season for the DaBruDogges and Mighty Long Dogs has no playoff implications. Both teams are just looking to end the season on a W, although the Brus probably want it more having lost their last five in a row. The Brus are once again without franchise RB McFadden who injured his foot earlier in the season. The Long Dogs look completely healthy. This looks to be a pretty even matchup, so the winner may end up being whomever has the most will.

The ic chargers will finish out their season taking on the mighty Killer Bunnies. This will be a mighty task for the chargers as they face a team that has maintained its position in the upper third of the league for almost the entire season. With the Pandemic of Love, Lancelot Links, and Bad Ass Weazels all breathing down their necks, this is a must win for the Killers in order to keep the 1st round bye they currently hold. That means that there are a few owners that are relying on the chargers to pull a David versus Goliath upset.

The Pandemic of Love are in the playoffs. It remains to be seen at what position and/or week they'll start. Their position is primarily in the hands of the Killer Bunnies. A Bunnies loss would mean that the Love jumps into 2nd place. The Pandemic could also jump to place 2nd place, or even 1st, if they outscore the Bunnies by 20 points and/or the Love Supremes lose to the Dancers. The only sure thing is that the Pandemic will win this week since they are facing the Easy Wins.

The Dancers are out of the playoff picture, but they are in an interesting position. They hold in their hands the possible fate of their opponent the Love Supremes. A Dancers win, along with the right outcome of a few other games this week, puts the Supies in the position of possibly losing their current 1st round bye status. The teams are projected fairly evenly. The question is whether Dancers coach Jill will be a swan and help out the Supies, or a Carabosse and ruin their Week 1 in the playoffs.

Atlanta QB Schaub is out on IR with a foot injury. Last week, he was left in the starting position for the Dabalalas, and the Las won. Can lightning strike twice, or will the Lancelot Links strike enough fear into the Las front office to cause a little tweaking? Both teams are in the playoffs, so the outcome won't change their status. But, who really wants to end the regular season in a loss. It looks like the Links are projected to take this one.

Good luck all! See you next edition!
