Week 15 Playoffs

It's an exciting week in the BFL! The semifinals! And, quite the semifinals it is with both wildcard teams having made it through to take on the top two teams of the year. Will The Pandemic of Love make it to the big game for a second year in a row? Will the rookie The Mighty Long Dogs win the long journey to the end? Can BFL playoff first timers The Dancers and the Cheesesteaks fight their way to the Kibble Bowl? And, of course, the big question. Who will pocket the pot?!

Week 14 Highlights:
Not only are The Dancers in the playoffs for the first time ever, but they've made it to the second round by eliminating the dominant The Lancelot Links 92-88. Going into the Monday night game, "The Links" were down by only 4 points. So, a victory was certainly within reach, especially with QB Manning and RB Peterson still to play. But, the two combined for only 11 points, matching the 11 points that The Dancers RB Rice also scored on Monday night. Both teams' benches had players who outscored their starting counterparts. But, even with a lineup change, The Dancers would still have taken this one.

The Cheesesteaks continue their late season dominance as they eliminated the Killer Bunnies 139-75. This game was over way early, as the "Steaks" were ahead by 47 points going into the Monday night game. The "Bunnies" had the misfortune of losing marquee QB Rodgers to a concussion early in the game, thus putting up only 1 point, although a healthy Rodgers most likely wouldn't have made a difference in the outcome of the game. The "Cheeses" benefited from their usual strong passing game and a strong performance from their running game. Also, their DST had a monster game with 3 sacks, 3 Int's, and 2 TD's, resulting in 36 total points.

Semifinal Preview:

The wildcard The Dancer will travel to the Saint Bernard division winner The Mighty Long Dogs. This looks like a fairly even matchup, although Madden has The Dancers a little ahead. A victory would be sweet for The Dancers who are in their third season of the BFL, the first two of which resulted in middle of the pack to bottom of the pack finishes. However, a win by The Mighty Long Dogs would result in the best rookie season since the Bad Ass Weazels placed runner up in season 2.

In what may be the game of the year, next to the Kibble Bowl of course, the first place and Great Dane division winner The Pandemic of Love hosts the wildcard Cheesesteaks. IADP expects this to be a high scoring game with lots of points being put up by both teams' passing games. The Pandemic of Love also have the added benefit of a strong running game in RB's Johnson and Hillis. The game will feature the strong coaching ability of Ryan versus the comeback kid in coach Kurt, so this should be a nail biter.
