IT'S HERE! FOOTBALL! FANTASY FOOTBALL!! Year four of the BruDog Football League! Can the Dabalalas win a third championship in a row?! Will the Cheesesteaks sheer will finally take them to their first playoffs?! Can the league handle it's first husband/wife rivalry?!
We have some new aspects this season, including the BFL owners association's decision to do away with the "undroppable players" rule. Also, our league's playoffs have been expanded this year to include the top six teams and run for three weeks, with the first week being a bye for the top two seeds.
Also, as an added incentive to return next season, the BFL is now a "Keeper League." That means that each owner will be allowed to retain, or "franchise", players from the 2010 season to have for the 2011 season. The BFL's franchise rule is set at two players.
Preview:
Bret Favre has decided to stay on another season. We at IADP believe that Favre made that decision in order to help Jim and his Dabalalas go for another championship run. Their first step? Get past the Cheesesteaks. This preseason, GM Kurt has been actively working on his roster in order to improve on the "Steaks" 10th place finish last season.
Second year vet Jill and her The Dancers host second place finisher St. Louis Pandemic of Love, coached by Ryan. As usual, the "Love" have been mighty busy in the preseason with the most adds, drops, and trades amongst the league. The Dancers are hoping for a better record after finishing at .500 last season. The Madden NFL '11 game engine (the new NFL Fantasy "Guru") has this game fairly even.
Before the season has even started, the woes have begun for Antonio's the DaBruDoggies. The "Doggies" have had to deal with WR issues including Sidney Rice being out for at least six weeks and T.J. Houshmandzadeh being dropped by the Seahawks. On the other side of the ball, Mike's ic chargers went to the trading post and free agent market to shore up their passing game.
Joey's The Lancelot Links weren't able to draft their '09 season star RB Chris Johnson this season. Not to fret, as they managed to draft BFL record holding RB Adrian Peterson. "The Links" will have to contend with Dayton and his Bad Ass Weazels who will be fighting to improve their 11th place '09 standing.
BFL newcomer Jon and his Romosexual Tendencies enter the league with a solid background, having won the championship in their former league. In their BFL debut, they get to test their skills against second year vet Kevin's In It to Win It who finished last season at .500. Look for the "Wins" to work hard at raising their "It" factor this season.
Our IADP Game of the Week pits husband against wife. BFL rookie Bud and The Mighty Long Dogs take on their division, as well as household, rival Killer Bunnies coached by wife Caren. With the likes of QB Peyton Manning and WR Randy Moss, Madden has the rookie favored to win this one. We over at IADP are calling this game the "Battle Of The Bedroom!"
Good luck all! See you next edition!
