Week 1

It's an exciting week in the BFL! Opening week! The beginning of a sixteen week test of strength and will. Who will make it to the end? Who will be the first BFL Champion to win a cash prize? Time will tell.

Previews:
The rookie The Good Kind of Limping Scrod takes on the second year vet cheesesteaks. And, talk about a match up, this game pits future hall of famer Bret Favre against future hall of famer Peyton Manning. Unfortunately, the NFL "Guru" doesn't have as much confidence in Farve as Andi. The "Guru" projects Farve at only thirteen points. Let's hope the "Guru" is wrong on this one.

Original BFL owner Mike and his i c chargers look to beat down 2008 runner-up The Bad-Ass Bug owned by Dayton. Coach Dayton is, I'm sure, hoping for another successful year after his seven game win streak last season. Unfortunately, with the i c chargers' powerful running game, it may be an uphill battle for "The Bug."

Kevin Average Joes had better look out because they are going up against 2007 runner-up, the DaBruDoggies. The DaBruDoggies, along with their franchise QB Drew Brees (Brees has been the DaBruDoggies QB every season of the BFL), plan on passing all over the Average Joes. Of course, with "The Joes" running game, they should give "The Doggies" a run for their money.

Jim's Dabalalas will host Joey's The Pan Troglodytes. For you rookie owners, coach Jim is someone to watch out for. In past seasons, he has benefited from some great drafts that have served him well into the playoffs and the 2008 championship. Coach Joey (a dedicated owner in his own right) looks like he may have fallen asleep in the back office. This reporter believes that, in the final hour, Joey will make just the right adjustments to make this a tight game.

Jill's The Dancers featuring Eli Manning take on Caren's Running Wild and the return of QB Tom Brady. Not sure why, but the "Guru" doesn't see Manning scoring many points. Looks like The Dancers will have to rely on their receivers to put points on the board. This was origanally the IADP "Game of the Week." After all, it has two Super Bowl QBs going at it, but the "Guru" seems to think otherwise. We shall see.

Of course, our lucky owner of the week is Ryan and his St. Louis Pandemic of Love as he takes on the oh so mighty Easy Wins. The Easy Wins had to venture into the free agent market to replace WR David Patten and Yamon Figurs who were both let go from their NFL teams. So, the Easy Wins now look to take down the mighty "Love" with such powerhouse players as QB. . . uh, and RB. . . um. . . oh, and TE. . . I'm sorry, who do they have on their roster?

Good luck all! See you next edition.
